K and N CAI with Megan Header. With the anti-fouler and without anti-fouler, my check engine light still comes on. Any solutions?

Disconnect battery. Install anti-fouler. Go download a porno. After the movie go back out to car. Reconnect battery. Take a drive to mcdonalds for lunch, go through drive through. Take the highway home. CEL should be gone. If that doesnt work, go to Autozone and have them check your CEL (its free). Have them clear it, but tell you what it is first. When you find out, come tell us.

Actually, you dont wanna just reconnect battery cable and take it for a drive right away. Follow the instructions in this link, and you wont have a problem, UNLESS you damaged the O2 censor during installation.

I have the dc sport header and anti-fouler mod and I still have a CEL. I have been to an auto zone to have the codes cleared but after a couple of days they just reappear. I think the ZPI sim is probably the best way to go!

Alot of the times that the antifouler doesn't work is either one of two things.

1. Not installed properly or
2. The O2 sensor was damaged with the additon of mod, in which case you still get a CEL.

That is really the only explantion as to why it works wonderfully for about 95% of people, but not the other 5%.

I installed the ZPI O2 sim… The light came back on yesterday. I don’t know what to-do now; I guess I will have to wait till some one makes an actual simulator for the Scion tC. Also I contacted ZPI and they said the stopped selling it about a year ago due to faulty outcome (product).

Is the anti-fouler still needed when I install a down pipe? I will also be installing my HKS cat back this weekend...

Have you had the code run? You can go to autozone advanced auto, etc to get it checked for free. It may be something else.

I go to a performance shop in Seattle to get all of my car work done. They said it’s the simulator. AutoZone in Seattle a bunch of little dumb kids work there.

The o2 sim is doing its job. Reading that theres excessive exhaust gases flowing (because of your mods). Don't let anyone sell you a new one. if the sensor was bad, you'd have more problems than just a CEL.

If you want a sure-shot way to clear the CEL...remove the o2 sensor, cover the bottom of the sensor (part that screws into bung) with aluminum foil and screw back in.

unfortunately, the more you remove/reinstall the o2 sensor, the more you will damage threads and dig yourself deeper into a hole.

Yeah, at least most everyone. I've had mine on for well over a year now and about 12k miles, and it has never popped back up.

A little something strange happened. I installed my HKS cat back saturday and while I installed the exhaust I disconected the negative battery cable. After finishing I reconected the cable and rebooted all the windows. After driving about 20 or so miles the CEL was activated again like usuall seeing as how I didnt think the anti fouler was working then after another 30 miles the CEL went off. I have been to auto zone to have it checked and no codes!! I have no idea why this happened but im not complaining! I guess I should have done the right thing at first and reflashed the ecu the first time!

Sounds like it worked, but he didn't clear the code when he first installed the antifouler. Now that its cleared its not come back on.
