hey... i am trying to install a 2 channel amp w/ the stock headunit... the stock stereo doesnt have RCA outputs, so i need to buy a converter... does this converter plug into the back of the headunit or does it splice the rear speaker wires? Also, where does contol wire hook up to so that the amp doesnt stay on 24/7? Also, how can i run the power wire from the trunk to the battery w/o drilling through the firewall, or is that the only way? thanks for any help

well i spliced into my rear speaker for the rca adapter. and then i ran my remote wire to my fuse box. but i installed a toggle switch to turn my amp on and off whenever i want because if not your amp will stay on 24/7 unless you splice into a wire that only turns on when the car is on or in acc. the switch is sweet tho cus instead of turning down the radio i just switch off the system whenever i see a cop.

All you have to do is find a wire bundle that runs through the fire wall and run your power through it.

There are 2 ways of getting through the firewall. One is a boot under the steering colomn. I couldn't find that one, so I went in on the passenger side. The boot is right at the top of the firewall just to the right of the strut tower. You'll have to take your glove box and ecu out to do it though. You only have to take the ecu out, you don't have to unplug it or anything. Make sure you fuse that power wire!
