Hey I'm about to start my custom exhaust project but I'm not sure which muffler I should use. Like whats the difference between the round ones and the like oval shaped ones?

Oval ones

Round ones

Should I get an aluminum one? Whats the difference?
http://www.hottexhaust.co...erformance/Aluminized.htm

I have no idea what size I should get, I know I want 2.5" but how big the muffler should be I dont know. Also what is the difference between the two.
Also, are those good prices for mufflers?
Should I get one that comes with a tip?

I'm really confused, and all I want to know is what are the differences.

Actually I asked one of my friend and he said it was just the shapes that were different and had nothing to do w/ the sound or flow.
Is this true?

Well for now, I'm just going to be doin an axleback.
I'm getting this
http://www.hottexhaust.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=14821
and having a muffler shop put it on for me. I'll be gettin 2.5" piping for that muffler to complete the rest of my exhaust later.

Is there like an adapter to go from the stock 2.24" piping to this new 2.5" piping?

I think to have the same effect as a cat-back exhaust system you would probably have to replace the piping before and after the cat to 2.5 or greater and then put in a high-flow cat.
I will be doing that after I do this mod. I'm doing it piece by piece to see the difference in performance and sound. After I'm done I will be ready for forced induction

like i posted on the other thread im thinking of going with th greddy sp2 catback and http://www.hottexhaust.co...mp;amp;txtsearchParamTxt=*&txtFromSearch=&subcat=158-bottom&iLevel=2&txtCatName=2 that (copy paste the whole linke, donnt just click it) as a highfloe cat...looks like i have a good 2 moths worth of saving omney to do

Exactly man. Thats what I was prolly going to end up doing since I have the urge to keep a cat on my car now.
That high flow cat would definately be perfect on my setup w/ 2.5" piping all the way through.
We have like the same setup except I'm using magnaflow and u got Greddy sp2.
Are you doing it all at one time?
