I want to upgrade my tires from the Bridgestone. I live in Boston, so I get snow for like 3-4 months, but I dont want to change my tires & rims for winter as I hate steel wheels & I dont have money for new rims now. I dont race my car or go over 100 mph, so I dont need super Hi-Perf. Everyone seems to like the Pirelli P Zero Nero M&S. Are they the best All season tires for the money? I dont know much about tires as I usually got the cheapest available before I got the tC. I know there are a million posts about tires here, if this is a repost, please link me to an open thread. |

Lynn_tC, Have you thought about just switching tires every year? Mount the winter tires on for the 4 months then when spring hits mount your normal ones. Mounting will cost about maybe 60 bucks. For the safety of winter can't beat it. |

Ive recently been looking at the Avon Tech M550's they seem to be a bit better than Pirelli based on the ratings from TireRack. I still dont know about tread wear though. So since they are close in performance i would research and see which one has a better tread life. |

the pzero nero m+s are good.. but they only lasted 18-19k miles.. i haven't been burning them out for those who will try to say that.. they just didn't last. I will be trying yokohama's avid h4s now.. why? well looked good for snow, friend has them and they worked great in 4 inches of snow.. so that sold me.. plus if you look at the tirerack's reviews they aren't that far off from the pzero's review numbers.. yeah i know it's an h-rated tire, but like i'm going up to 130mph? hahaha.. no need for z-rated.. they're about $100 a tire for the h4s in our size tire.. i'll let ya know what they're like when i get them put on |

I guess I could do the switch over with snow tires on my stock rims. After the snow we got this weekend, I dont have too much confidence with the Potenza's anymore. I will look into it. |
