I'm turning 18 in 3 months and I will be needing to buy a car, because I am going away to college in the Fall. I really want an Azure Pearl tC. I was looking at the requirements for finance on dealer websites and of course, most say that you must be employed in a full-time job for atleast 6 months. Well, I don't have a job because i'm in school. I was previously employed somewhere for over a year though. The thing is, I do have money. My parents were both in the U.S. Airforce for 20 years and I get their retirement paychecks. That's thousands of dollars every month and it is direct deposited into my banking account by the government. My Question is even though I do not have a job, will I be able to qualify for financing and buy a car? O, and my parents can't just buy the car for me because they are still under their chapter 13 bankruptcy they filed for a couple years ago. That is why it's important that I am able to qualify. Sry, if it's a stupid question, but I don't know anything about buying a car. Thanx.

DO NOT finance through scion. That is where they are making their money from on these cars. They won't tell you, but you can go and get an outside credit source for the loan. I have a score of 694 and "scion financing" wanted a 7.99% rate....I laughed because I know the game. I shopped around different banks and credit unions and found one that gave me a rate of 5.14%. Your best bet is to order your car and put the deposit down and get a final total from scion. Then go to your bank and have them run your credit and see what percentage rate they can give you. Remember your score or get a printout from the bank. Then go to different banks and credit unions and tell them what your score is (DO NOT LET THEM RUN YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER AGAIN, just let them know you know what the score is...the more hits you have on your credit history, the more points it drops) and see what rates you can get. Find the lowest and go with that one. Remember when you are financing a car you are shopping for two things....the car itself, and the loan for the car. And when you do both at the dealer, you usually get ripped off on one or the other.

Wow your lucky you shouldn't have to worry about buying a car since your getting that retirement money every month. Save up about 4 months and put a big down paymant down.
