Sorry about the cruddy pictures, i dont own a digital camera and i borrowed a friends... needless to say the machine and i were fighting over the settings and it won. I couldnt get it to do what i wanted in the limited lighting. Tommorow Ill take the car outside (if there's sun anyways, it was raining when i took these) and get some better pictures. Process was as follows- -NXT wash, I used one of those walmart soap sprayer things... used eagle one wet wash sopa in it. the surface was really slick. Ill be doing this from now on. -clay magic clay on whole car -Optimum polish via white LC pad, swirls were very minor, car is brand new, i refused dealer prep. the only swirls present were the few i made washing it a few times since i got it. Optimum takes forever to remove swirls though... -IPA rub, the optimum polish didnt seem like it was comming off with just a towel, so i did this. -Clearkote VM via white LC pad -Clearkote RMG via black LC pad -4* UPP via Black LC pad x2, did the first coat @ 5pm yesterday, then the second coat this morning @ 9am -Pinnacle Souveran via supplied yellow foam applicator, did this this afternoon as to give UPP a bit of time to set up. glass, headlights, taillights, mirrors, turn signals in mirrors, rims, and door jams received a coat of AIO. rims and door jams also got some UPP. Tires were cleaned first with EO A2Z, after 2 applications they were still comming off dirty (even after scrubbing vigorously) so i switched over to pinnacle gel wheel cleaner (got it free w/ my souveran order :woot few things i learned... -This car has WAY too much glass. there is no roof, its all glass. Combine that with a windshield and an overly large hatch, its a PITA. -Souveran is rather difficult to remove, but really easy to apply. I resorted to using a shot or two of crystal mist on my buffing towel, that helped slightly. -leafblowers are a godsend. Day one i didnt use one for cracks and crevices and whenever i was polishing water would drip everywhere. Came on yesterday night and searched around a bit, found out about them, used it today after i washed it and no drips whatsoever! ok, ive rambled on enough, how's it look guys? again, better pictures if weather permits tommorow. |

Sadly its still mostly cloudy outside, but the sun tried to peak through this morning (its downpouring now). Got a chance to take a few pictures before it started to rain. This was the first time the car has been outside the garage since i started on wednesday. Needless to say its amazing in better lighting. The metallic is gorgeous. I especially like how this paint color goes from a very deep dark blue in places to a very light blue in others. Considering this was my first time with the pc and proper products (versus OTC chemicals), I'm proud of myself |
