White specs (raised) on a nautical blue tC

I bought my nautical blue tC about two weeks ago. I washed it and waxed it using Meguiar-s products. I noticed today that there are some white specs that seem to have adhered to the blue paint. The specs appear to be raised, not smooth. They are on the right side of the hood and the passanger side front quarter panel. I removed one spec with my finger nail. I was able to take off the white spec without scratching the paint. However I could not completely remove the white spec with my finger. It appears as though there is still a very small amount of white there. The specs are very small but there are quite a few of them. I think I might have picked them up from the road (fresh paint used for traffic lane dividers).I need some advice on how to remove these specs completely without damaging my paint. I am by no means an expert at detailing so the more detail the better.

Take a rag, and some corn oil, or any other cooking oil (or goo gone, or kerosene) pour ON a soft cloth, and rub the cloth where the specs are....thoes three things will take them off....kerosene is the strongest...Goo gone will work if u rub real hard, and you mite still have to use ur nail...Corn oil usually get paint off from another car, but it takes alot of elbow grease...go0d luck with it, tell us what happens.and if you-re htinking kerosene will hurt the paint, no it wont...just make sure to re wax when u-ve taken it all off as it may weaken the clear coat...

I had some goo gone in the house so I thought I would try that first. I used a soft cloth and some goo gone. I did have to use my nail, but it worked like a champ. No scratches and the goo gone did not hurt the clear coat or paint. Thanks for the great advice!!!!

true, but our cars have sat in boats and the factory for long enough...to say the -Paint- isn-t fresh anymore... so we-re ok...if you REPAINT your car, then yes...different story.
