hey guys. my tc is coming in from LA in 2-3 days. i ordered the trd shocks and struts with the car. it has been hinted at that the labor is going to cost a TON. what is the max you would pay for installation by the dealer for the springs and struts? i need to know what to say no to. im thinking 300-400 is reasonable.

My install shop charged me about $280 for just shocks on my friends car. Note that it is with an alignment too. So around $400 if your dealer is reasonable.

Northridge Toyota quoted me $490 for the spring install. Spring + Strut install is also $490, since stock struts have to removed to install the springs anyway.

Haha, not true, i-d go t0 the dealer for the free oil changes...LOL...that and i-d trust the dealer for any installation of those parts, because dealerships HAVE to gurantee their work =) its safe to sy that the extra 50$ is a good security on my work..

400 sounds ridiculous, I really don-t know but it sounds pretty high, I-ve always installed my own struts and springs since my honda days. I wouldn-t pay more than $200 to get them installed.

you only retain the warranty if you use trd or toyota approved parts, any other parts and you will void warranty, so by going with goldline you already void warranty no matter who installs it.

sorry wrong post, in your case, yes, if you want to keep warranty then let dealer do it.

I paid around 250 for dealer installed shock/struts and springs. That price also included alignment. I was actually surprised that the dealer did it for that much.
