Now, to ADD onto this forum, because i wanted to start this thread too...WHich one do you prefer? Does the TRD suffice a decent drop, i udnerstand the Tein is a more aggressive drop, but will i run into Camber and toe and other such aligment/tire/suspension problems down the line. ... As the TRD looks like, i wont have too many problems as the DROP is not big enough.Does anyone scrape with the TRD, ANY time, i don-t care if it steep, speed bumps, do you guys scrape? how about you guys with the Teins? My birthday is comming up, my dads buying me springs, s0 im looking towards tein vs. trd....making my final decision soon ya-ll, help me out! haha...

Check out my website I got photos of my setup. I went with the Tein S springs. I also put on the Hotchkist rear upper links, front strut bar, TRD rear swaybar, and H&R front camber kit. I love the look of the Tein S drop as the TRD is just not low enough for me. I do not like in gap between the tire and the fender. The ride is not bad as I kept the stock shocks a little bumpier but not much a lot firmer in corners. Most ride comfort comes from the shock design. That is why air bag rides are so smooth. The clearance is an issue but not totally bad just know what you can and can not do. For instance no more automatic car washes the tracks are to high. Enter at angles on steep entrances. Be careful with potholes if you have stock tires the regular potholes should be fine. Large potholes will kill even with stock suspension. Just becareful. I am getting my 19-s on next month then I will have to navigate streets like an expert. But style comes at a cost. Website

Scionic_tC are you going to the Mid-Ohio Track Scion Show on Aug 27th. If so you can see the car in person with the 19-s installed.

Did you need to get the camber kit because of the springs?

Did you need to get the camber kit because of the springs? Yes, IMO for the most precise handling and to keep camber with in specs the camber kits were need for the Tein S. If you check photos of my car lowered and Scionic_tC. You will see the difference in camber even visual is different. The stock suspension can not remove all the negative camber that is introduce to it without the kits. While more negative camber is good in corners to much can cause issue also the balance must be found. With my suspension I now have that adjustability + or - 3 degrees to fine tune. I have currently set the camber at -.5 degrees factory setting and even with pushing the car have not induced oversteer that some are feeling with tien s or swaybar setup. I believe this oversteer may have something to due with to much negative camber.

I have had absoloutley no scraping with the TRD springs. I will also add that I do have the OEM ground effects. My car sits on 18-sw 225/40rz18 tires . Wheel/tire size will have alot to do with the gap and if your going to scrape or not so, you should post your whole setup for advising on this topic. Just my$.02 though.
