I am almost done with my stereo system. Well, I guess the stereo is done, but I have a few more tidbits that need attention.First, here is what I have:Head Unit: Kenwood DDX7015Add-ons: Sirius, KNA-DV4100 Navi, Voice Control, DTSAmp1: JL Audio 300/4Amp2: JL Audio 500/1Fronts: JL Audio XR525-CSi - 2-way componentsRears: JL Audio XR650-CXi - 2-way coaxialsSubs: 2 JL Audio 8W7sCustom Work: - Entire interior dynamatted- custom fiberglass enclosureI will post some pics soon, but I have one thing left. I want to have a JL Audio symbol custom made to be the centerpeice of the trunk enclosure. I am thinking of a brushed aluminum peice in the shape of the JL symbol and beveled. This will be raised mounted on the center of the enclosure with a blue LED behind it (to match the other lighting).I just dont know where to go to get something like that made. The system sounds amazing (I was going for audio quality, not noise level). And the enclosure is awesome. I will post some pics soon, but if anyone knows where I can have something like this made, I would appreciate it.

Wow, we have a JL Audio fan...I hope you had a deal on these items...because otherwise, retail, for the money you spent, i coulda built a 10X better system for 1/2 the price.Pictures would be nice, gracias!

I have to take a memory stick to the shop to get the pics since they dont have a CD burner. Go figure.I am not sure how I could have got a 10x better system for 1/2 the price though. I certainly could have built a system for half the price, but not one that sounded nearly as good. There are certainly better regular speakers for the money than JL Audio. I am really a fan of their amps and subs. But their XR line is comparable to most everything in the same price range. The Kenwood deck was overpriced, especially once you buy all the add-ons. But there wasnt anything else that did all of that in a double-din space until very recently.I just won my 12th award for the stereo. Ever show I go to I win something in the audio clarity and sound quality areas. The system sounds better than anything I have heard that cost less than twice what I paid.I-ll post some pics soon.

Awesome, cant- wait to see your awesome setup!ANd i exxaggerated, maybe not 10X, but yeah, i just wanted to emphasize there are a few more manf. out there better than JL, but not as expensive, you seem to know your way around the audio world, and thats awesome. I agree w/ their XR line being comparable...im more into talking speakers in general. IeL components...Dont- get mew rong, i have a JL too... heheBut yeha, pics woudl be great, cant- wait till you post them up! keep us posted!

The Eclipse Double Din unit spanks the balls off the Kenwood unit. So does the Pioneer Avic units, the only problem with them is the nav run a little loud, at least on the N1. The double din unit is much quieter running though, and at half the price of retail for both pieces of the Kenwood unit. Not to mention the fact that they use 24-bit Burr Brown DAC-s in there as opposed to Kenwood-s 16 bit. The pioneer provides a tad more tunability, etc. Also, looks like you don-t have an EQ, might want to invest some money in one with at least a 30 band, you-d be surprised at how much of a difference that it-d make. PS, I could spend half teh money and wipe your setup-s ass with it, both SQ and SPL wise, but sounds like a decent setup, spent too much more than likely, but that-s your prerogative. The XR-s, however, are among my personal favorites in terms of budget setups.

I wont argue with the audio quality of the various units (Pioneer, Eclipse) beause I didnt compare them side-by-side. I decided on functionality. I have never been a Kenwood fan, but the Excelon uit was adequate for my needs. And when you add the DTS unit it increases the output voltage to the amps (which helped alot) and added an electronic (prgrammable) EQ. So not as nice as a high-end EQ, but very flexible since I can change the freq. range, width, etc for each band. And at the time I bought it all, there wasn-t anything close to the KNA-DV4100 Navi. The only thing that really irked me was the cost of the unit once you added all the optional components. There are now better all-in-one units for a fraction of the price. I would steer people away from the Kenwood units. On top of that I HATE Sirius satellite radio. I would much rahter have XM. So I may be considering a change pretty soon.
