I just purchased an 06 tc. I was lucky to find a dealer with one in stock in that beautiful dark (nautical) blue color. I noticed that the 06 had Yokohama tires on them while the 05 had the bridgestones (which I have heard are terrible!). I was trying to find out info on the yokos but I can-t seem to find out how people like these tires. On tirerack it appears as though they are all season tires but it has not test track info or user reviews. If people who have these tires on either their 05 or 06 could post their impressions of the tire, either here or on tirerack it would be much appreciated. I was curious about handling in wet and dry (and snow), treadware, noise, comfort, etc.ThanksThursday I pick up the car...!!

The stock Bridgestone Potenzas are not horrible tires...they just aren-t great on prolonged wear. They wear down quickly, but the grip is up to par with most Z-rated tires. AS STICKYNESS GOES UP, TIRE WEAR GOES DOWN....its a sacrifice we all must make to achieve ultimate grip.

i have the yokos on my 05 tC. I love the tires and they drive great. But to tell you the truth i don-t really push my car very hard like some people. my cousin-s tC has the bridgestone on them and they drive fine to me too. So honestly i-m just thinking that these people complainting about the bridgestone are driving the car pretty hard. Also the 06 tC-s don-t alway come with the Yokos. i talked to my dealer where i got my car and they said Scion is alternating the tires back and forth as they make them. But to tell you the truth i think the yokos are a lil bit better then the Bridgestones. good luck on your new purchase.

ehh. I agree that they don-t last long but they sure as hell give up in a hurry. I think the craptenzas have something to do w/ the tC-s abs system coming on early...also...I know they-re low profile but it seriously feels like the tires are rolling over on me during hard turns..

I do not think that the Re92 tires are very good for the following reasons.1. they are prone to blowouts. My father had these tires on his Infiniti and blew three tires. My father does not even drive aggressively. I have also read on many a discussion board that there are problems with these tires mysteriously blowing out on people. That scares me. 2. I think that if you want ULTIMATE grip you should go with a summer tire such as the bridgestone pole positions S03-s. I have had a few friends who have had these tires and have pushed them extremely hard and they are amazing (but this was in an audi S4 and a BMW M3). 3. I am a big fan of bridgestone on my Jetta I had RE950-s. These tires were amazing and improved the car-s handling ability incredibly. Also these tires have Uni T in them, which helps them stay grippy longer. I have to say it does make a difference!Again I think that the RE92 are not good, especially when it comes to safety. If you are going to drive your car hard you need a tire that you can trust!

Ice i think you should consider a few things before making such a list.IN NO WAY is the re92 comparable the pole positions s03-s.... for one, the -sears- equivalent to the OEM/DEALER re92 is a $119 a tire, whereas the S03-s are close to $249 a tire...THE re92 is not offered in ANY STORE for good reason...75% of the time dealers send you off with the cheapest tire required by the California Department of Transportation, so they don-t lose money.... in this case, the is300, the tC, and other toyotas possessing 215/205/225 45/17-s have these tires...My father has the is300, no blown tires. My Friend has the is300, no blown tires.Anyone with tC-s have blown tires yet?Maybe your father got duds, maybe your father drives in the wrong area, maybe your father didn-t know they were partially flat, or over-inflated... there are many factors to think about.I grip pretty well, i can take an on-ramp at 70mph and hear little to no squeeling...granted pole positions, or zeni-s, or gtb-s wont screech at ALL, this is pretty damn good for an OEM tire that SCION is giving me. THis is afterall a scion, not a mercedes, ferrari, or any other high end car....don-t expect the best.I myself am not a fan of bridgestone, though you maybe, and i understand why you would be, they build great tires...but there are plent of other choices out there competitive, and cheaper than their high-end H, W, Y, Z rated tires.

I had Yokohama S32A-s on my 05 I picked up out here in CA. I think they handled well for dry traction couldn-t tell ya about wet traction I only ran them for about 2-300 miles then threw on some 20- shoes...

I just went to Longo Scion in El Monte, CA to buy some mudguards for my -06 tC NB. I purchased my car at another dealer and i have the yokohomas. However, I saw 3 other tC on the lot at Longo today and they have the Bridgestones, so i guess Scion is switching even with the new -06. And is it just me or are the bridgestones thicker looking than the yokos?

Yeah the three OE tires that are coming on the 05-06 tC are the Re040, Re92 and the Yoko S32A I wonder what determines what tire your car gets. I bet it has something to do with what plant the car was manufactured at.

for toyo to give you 17- rims and z rated tires on a $17k car in itself is amazing, what other co. is giving you so much for so little? on the blowout issue, i know 5 people with these tires on their toyota or lexus and have not once had a blowout. I think these are good tires for the money. You can-t expect a top notch performance tire from factory, especially if your car is rated at 160 hp. and only cost 17k.

So you don-t forget that it is on. Just think when the car gets to age where those people who drive on donuts all the time drive the car. Then we will see yellow rims all over. Just yesterday I saw an Chevy Astro Van with two donuts on the front and he was doing 75+.

well, i blew my second bridgestone tire today. thats 2 in less than a 6 month span maybe its the texas heat or my driving (not too aggressive), but im thinking of switching to a whole new set of the yokos. anyone know how much a set would run me? or is there another brand i should look at that will get me the best bang for the buck?

Lets say, if you got aftermarket rims, would a oem 17- fit in the spare tirewell? Or how hard would it be to make it fit?
