LED lighting question

 I am trying to install LED lights in all 4 air vents. I was wondering if anyone knows the best way to wire them. I was thinking either tying all the power and ground wire together, maybe with some solder, and then making the connection. Or the other thing was I could wire tap the cigarette lighter power wire 4 different times. I saw someone posted a DIY on installing vent lighting, but he ran his wires all the way from the battery, and that doesn-t sound to appealing to me. I figure the best wire to connect to is the cigarette lighter wire. Any ideas or help would be appreciated
