So I-m driving down the road minding my own business and I hear a loud PING as I-m driving by some landscaper working on someones lawn. So i get out and i see this:Now i can feel the scratch with my nail so I might need some touch up paint for my Flint Mica...I have some eagle one nanowax but I-m not sure what are the right actions to take as far as repairing this. Does it look that severe?

WOW that looks bad, I hate driven by weed wackers there always throwing out rocks and stuff.Anyways, you should see if theres a chips away around your area, they will make it look like new and you wont evan notice there was a chip there. The reason I know this is I work for them and they can do some amazing things without reapainting the whole panel. If you live near west warwick LI I can get you the number for the one in that area.

When I went over to go balistic on the guy, he didn-t even speak any english, so that didn-t do me any good, I just left it alone from that point.I-ve never heard of Chips Away, is there one in Nassau county, and how good of a job do u think they would do on FLINT paint??

They can match just about any color, give me your zip and Ill see if there is one in your area. If you put just regular touch up paint on it, I know it will look like crap.

Nothing that easy, no. If the following link sounds like too much work for you, than you-re going to need to pay a proffessional.http://clubsciontc.com/mo...=viewtopic&t=3791

It would be my luck that the link doesn-t work anymore.

Hmm ... their KnowledgeBase is down. Even their own links to it don-t function. Hopefully it will return soon, it-s a really good article on how to repair that stuff.

What would a repair like that cost? I have a small area on my driver door from my own family members repeatedly slamming their car doors into my tC. Then I try to talk to them about it and they don-t even care... so of course the repairs will be coming out of my pocket...

flint mica-s are so hard to maintain. i have a couple scratches on mine from different things, mostly debris from the freeway. on top of that i have scrape on my front bumper which i took to get it repaired, but the price was too high. they quoted $300-400 for a 8-9in scrape. so im waiting to gather up money to repair it.

When I picked up my FM from the dealer, he showed me where the prep guy scraped the bumper with the buffer. After a few days I took it back to have it fixed. They repainted the whole bumper and it looks like cr@p..blotchy, foggy, small scratches.Has anyone else had repairs to FM paint? Is it really that hard to get right?
