I have seen a lot of these slim line subs, does anyone have any experience with these? Do they require less air space? Or do they use the same air space, the box is just smaller due to the fact the sub depth is shallower. What are your guys opinion.

Also can I fit a full 12" sub in the compartment on the right side of the spare tire?

Thanks

you would have to look at the specs of the sub to figure out the air space requirements. it probably differs greatly from brand to brand. i havent had any experince with slim line subs, but there has to be a price to pay for a slim design. probably lack a little in power handling and output compared to their full size versions.

there isnt any full size sub worth having that is gonna fit in the space to the right of the spare tire. there is a company that makes a box with slimline sub to fit in that space, but i am not sure if it would have the output you want. kinda depends on what you want.

critical mass makes an awesome slimline sub but it is close to $1000 bucks retail.

with your newly acquired fb skills you can probably get something to work out.

ouch lol I think $1000 for a sub is a tab bit out of my cost line. That is what I was worried about in regards to the full size sub next to the tire. I was looking at the phoenix gold slim line subs and amp set up, I just really don't want to have my subs exposed. but I guess I will have to do a little more research. I wonder if there is anyway to make that space next to the tire larger with out compromising too much.

I thought about taking the spare tire out but after i had a tire blow out on my 08 F-150 yesturday it was kind of handy having a spare

It's a 10", but it fits to the right of the tire as requested. If you have the Ingalls K-brace, it won't though.

I have seen that setup you just showed but i plan on building one myself and putting a better sub in it. My buddy has 2 new 10" fosgates in back of his '03 GTI and that sounds real nice but we have the gain on his amp down around 60% and that sounds really nice i would like to end up with something like this. Is it possible to get a slimline sub that is going to rattle the rear view mirror to the point i cant see out of it?
