I have this strange noise coming from the front driver side whenever I start to accelerate and start to slow down (not using brakes, just coasting). It sounds like a grinding noise, but in cycles...its not a constant grind...make sense? I went to one shop and they told me it was the wheel bearings, but he was busy that day so all he did was take a look at it and told me to come back tomorrow, but I'm kind of worried, so I went to Brake Check and they took a look at it and said nothing was wrong. (brake pads look good, rotors look good, alignment looked good, wheel bearings looked good) I need some advice guys! |

I also think it might be the bearing. Is there a vibration to or just a noise? ![]() ![]() |

just noise. i have run over a few curbs here and there, so i figured it might be the bearing too. but the dude at brake check said it was good... no idea.... |

the thing is i went to brake check earlier today... they checked everything, put the tires back on, and even torqued them, so im pretty sure its not the lugnuts. the only things i can think of is either alignment or wheel bearings, cuz i have run over a few curbs here and there. but dude said both of them are good. he was explaining to me that "oxidization" in the rotor/pad area can cause noises like that sometimes.... i have a feeling he didn't have a clue what he was saying. should i just go to a professional repair shop and get the whole car scoped out? |

You still might check the lugs... Oxidization can cause noise but not very loud unless you have a lot, and I think you would scrape it off pretty fast. It can't hurt, if it is your wheel bearings you should get it fixed fast. ![]() Mac and iPhone/iPod help! |

If you've been running over curbs I'd take a closer look at your suspension.. Curb jumping really isn't what the tC's meant for. ![]() ![]() ![]() The Thread Killah |
