It won't "just bolt up". The motors are too different.

Celica GTS=2ZZ-GE and the GT was rocking the 1ZZ-FE. The Lotus Elise also rocked the 2ZZ-GE.

or does the whole motor and trany fit cause even tho its a 1.8 its more higher in power at 180 and a six speed at 160 but with rev limeter should be near 170 mph

edit and also that its a 1.8 its better on gas cause of the less on the liters

Completely differeny motor. The 2AZ-FE motor is transverse mounted. 1ZZ/2ZZ is straight front/back mounted

The 2az-fe is easier to pull power out of than the 2zz-ge..

Was hanging out with some friends last night and one guy was there that works for Toyota as a tech and has for the past 6 years. He said the worst problem with the GTS motor/trany is the fact that they were overrated from the factory and the tranys were constantly over-revved.

He had a lot of GTS Celicas come into the shop with blown motors but when he pulled up a freeze-frame data sheet from the ECM, come to find out the engine held a 15000 rpm rev. This was from young driver's (mainly) mis-shifting and over revving the engine causing the lower end (weakest point on the 1ZZ) to basically shatter. Rod pieces were always found in the oil pans. The gearing of the trans is nice b/c it's tighter in lower gears and stretches the upper power band out in higher gears, but that's its downfall as well (the tighter lower gears were TOO close in relation to the higher gears causing a LOT of mis-shifting and damage).

The good thing about the 2az over the 1zz is the larger displacement. Granted, small displacement engines CAN produce a lot of power but, the fact that you have more displacement to start with allows you to have a large power increase potential. You have more space to play with in the cylinders and still enough room to bore out and sleeve.

Complaining is futile when you supported the victory.

Why do you need to go 170 mph... Are you an un-official NASCAR entry...
