Just wanted to clarify on some things when it comes to buying from our wonderful classifieds section.

Before even thinking about buying an item a user has posted for sale, please make sure that they've provided proper contact information as well as adhering to the rules and regulations for selling items on the site.

Do not make money transactions via Western Union, money order, etc unless you're willing to accept the high risks of the seller just running off with your money. Always use Paypal.

At the end of the day, the decision is ultimately yours. If you don't have a good feeling about the user or the deal then just walk away. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Caveat Emptor - Buyer Beware.

If I missed out on anything please feel free to add it here.

If I am going to buy from here, I am going to buy from the usual users I see on here all the time.

One thing to add is that even using paypal for the transaction you are still exposing yourself to risk buy funding your paypal with a bank account. Using a credit card with paypal gives you the most protection. See the sticky I wrote about beating paypal in a dispute for more information.

Bump!

I almost got scammed trying to sell an item just a few days ago. Buyers and sellers can both be scammed. So if you are a seller, remember local deals are usually safer than shipping.

But if you have to ship the item, in all likelyhood, the buyer is going to use Paypal. Just make sure that you can see the money in your account history before you ship the item.

Ah and another thing. Once the transaction is complete either post it on the classified thread that you purchased from or contact a moderator so we can lock it without any worries.
