Hi Everyone,I wanted to stop by and make a couple quick announcements regarding our Scion tC short shifter.First, we now offer two separate models for the tC. Stage 1 is designed for those who would like to retain the stock knob height while still reducing the shift throw by approximately 25%. Stage 2 is the more aggressive model which has been on the market since the tC hit show rooms. It reduces knob height by 2.5- and shift throw by 35%.Both parts are currently available on our website and we have also activated the promotional code TCTWM for the month of June. By entering this code during the checkout process you will receive a 10% discount on our both tC shifters. Also, shipping is free within the continental US and Canada.Click here for more info. Thanks,Karel W.TWM

I just ordered the stage 2 with the 35% reductions in throw for 112 including shipping with the discount going on right now. That is the best price I have seen.TCM I have one question is the one I ordered it said 2.5-/35% Reduction. I understand the 35% but what does the 2.5- vs the other .5- does that me it is 2.5 inches shorter than original.

The 35% throw reduction indicates how much shorter the distance your hand moves between gears, while the 2.5- refers to the knob height reduction. In addition to altering the pivot points resulting in a smaller angle between shifts, the knob height is also reduced by 2.5- on the stage 2 for a sportier look and feel than the stock part.Check out both models at: http://www.twmperformance...sciontcshortshifters.htmI hope this helps.KevinTWM Performance

I just installed a TRD short shift kit. It changes the whole cage which they moved up on spacers to accomadate a shorter shaft, but retain the stock height minus a quarter inch. The advertised reduction in throw is 20%, I dont notice to much difference in the throws but the whole shift pattern seems much more accurate/less slop. I want to know if either of these TWM kits will work with the new TRD cage and what the effective change would be. Any idea if they would work on this?

tChillin: I would recommend using the TWM stage 2 shifter with the TRD short shifter plastic assembly since they are compatible. Since TRD actually raises the assembly slightly, the TWM stage 1 may actually end up being slightly taller than stock. I-m sure that you will notice a massive improvement over the TRD short shifter by installing the TWM stage 2 short shifter. The throw reduction will be 35% as opposed to TRD-s 20%, along with a lower knob height for a much sportier look. They-re available here: http://www.twmperformance...ontcshortshifters.htmHope this answers your questions,KevinTWM Performance

I don-t suppose you would guarantee that would you Seriously though, has one been test in that configuration or at least looked at by your design/engineers ? I really dont want to buy it, try it, and it not work. But Im not entirely against it.... Thank for the info.

Thank for the info. Based on our experiences with other TRD shift assemblies in the Celica and Corolla we believe that the tC TRD assembly would work perfectly with our shifter. We-ve yet to see a TRD shift assembly which doesn-t house a shifter that has the same critical dimensions as the stock part (in other words, one which the stock part or our part wouldn-t fit into).Drop us an e-mail or give us a call anytime if you have any further questions or would like to order. Thanks!KarelTWM Performance1-888-569-8963

Question: Is there a reason why the knobs that comes with the Performance Package are so expensive?

What is the threading on the stage 1. I just ordered on and want to know if my OBX knob will work? I believe it is 12mm standard thread.

rsworksTc: The threads on both the stage 1 and stage 2 TWM shifter are M12x1.25, the same as the stock shifter. Speaking of knobs, we-re releasing several new designs in the coming months, check them out here: www.twmshiftknobs.com.Thanks,KevinTWM Performance

So Karel let me get this straight.Stage 1 = A higher shift (by 0.5) 40% throw reductionStage 2 = A lower shift (by 0.5 and a sportier look) but only 30% throw reduction <--- confused

Here-s the break down, sorry for the confusion Stage 1 = .5- shorter than the stock shifter, 25% shorter throw than the stock shifterStage 2 (which is the one that has been on the market for a year) = 2.5- shorter than the stock shifter, 35% shorter throw than the stock shifterI hope this clears things up, the stage 1 kit is designed for people who are comfortable with the height of the stock shifter but would like shorter throws, stage 2 is for those who feel the stock shifter is too tall and crave a greater reduction in throw. Thanks,KarelTWM Performance
