3rd Gear Taking Long to Shift to 4th

I have an auto, 05.

Since before I installed any upgrades and still happens after Ive installed I/H/E. I noticed that when I floor it and hit 3rd gear, the rpms reach around 6k and stay there for alot longer than the previous gear. Like it wants to hit the shift point but takes about 3-4 seconds to get into 4th. This is only while I have the gas floored, if I let off the gas about 1/8th it will go into 4th no problem. It shifts fine and when its in 4th floored it rides out. I noticed it usually happens on windy days, is this normal or a problem?

thats a problem. tranny could possibly have something wrong with the clutches or synchros.

Check your fluid level and a flush may help as well.

Complaining is futile when you supported the victory.

Ok - does it bounce off the rev limiter? Does it shift out of gear (essentially into neutral) then shift into 4th?

When my transmission went, the car would shift out of 2nd gear, the revs would hop way up, then it would suddenly shift hard into 3rd. The 3rd gear clutch/friction was dead.

It should be fine as long as your 3rd gear isn't bouncing the rev limiter..

ya but the TC was created with the mindset to be a Teen MODDABLE car. it was created for the specific reason of "making urs unique"

idc if its an economy car.. u can say a GTI is an economy car and they have the most advanced automatic in the world in there cars.

When they meant moddable, I'm pretty sure they meant mild modifications.. Not 350whp+ turbos and such.

it sits in 3rd and once it hits 6k the acceleration in rpms slows down, basically im saying it sits in 3rd to long. If i let off the gas a lil it goes into 4th. everything shifts perfect tho, theres no bouncing off rev limiter or slipping.
