i have seen the injen hydroshield on a TRD CAI, so i imagine it will be OK for the tenzo r

I am not 100% about the bypass valve, but i have read up on it, and it's said to be pretty much useless

thanks jorge...i guess ill rethink the BPV, or at least buy it later down the road.

and looking at the hydroshield, it just looks like a mesh pouch, so chances are it will fit over any filter, right?

The BPV will really only help if your filter is submerged under water, haha. When you filter is underwater, its tougher for the engine to suck in the water (so if you are lucky you will stall), but if you have the BPV, the intake bypasses (hence the name) the filter and sucks in air from the BPV.

Hydroshield works on a different principle. Its a hydrophobic sock for your filter. I think if you have the hydroshield, the BPV is superfluous.

Injen makes the hydroshield. Should work with any intake filter. Just get the right size.

The hydroshield makes it harder to suck air in through the filter all the time. I have an AEM bpv on my Injen (well when it actually rains in this Hell we call so cal) lol, but check ebay, all you need is the valve and you'll be fine. Does the intake your looking at convert to short ram?

^Other way around there...

The BPV creates a lower vacuum effect in the intake b/c it acts as a secondary filter for air to pass in. Having more than one intake section on a pipe will lower the amount of vacuum that is created at both sections.

The hydroshield is about 95-98% porous for the restriction on air flow would be, for example....if the air flow through the intake filter was 800 cfm, the intake hydroshield would be about 740-784 cfm. Not a huge difference and that's a worst case scenario.

Not sure where you get the fact that the intake works harder to dray through something as porous as cheese cloth vs. something that lowers the vacuum of the intake itself.

Complaining is futile when you supported the victory.

Measure your intake filter accordingly to this site and you will know which hydroshield to get.
