LED tail lights for 08?

So, after letting my Anzo-style tail lights I ordered from eBay sit around my house for a few months (since I've been occupied with lots of Xbox 360 playing), I tried to install them on my 08 last weekend. Well, if anyone has seen these on eBay before...

...those are the ones I got. It turns out a few months ago a lot of the sellers didn't know that this model wouldn't work with the 08's, since the reverse light has a different base compared to this set. I'm not sure if this applies to all the other tail lights labelled to work with "2005 - 2008", but I ended up having to ghetto rig the light a bit in order for it to work.

Since I don't want to wait around for something to go wrong with these tail lights because of fitment, I've decided to look for a different pair. I'm wondering if there are any of these "Anzo-style" tail lights available anywhere that actually work with 08's or if they're all for 07 and older.

Oh yeah, and if anyone has suggestions for other tails that will fit on the 08, I'd consider them, too.

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies!

Well, I suppose for simple fitment of the housing onto the car that may be true, but I'm talking about the actual socket.

I looked this same set up on eBay and now it's marked as 2005 - 2007 ONLY. The reverse bulb "hole" in the tail light housing was too small for the "base/socket" of the 2008.

It could just be that this was a faulty run of the tail lights, but considering that there were no irregularities with the plastic for the pair, I'm guessing that they just don't fit 2008's.

The other 2 light connections worked fine, it was just the reverse light.

Again, my question stands. Does anyone with a 2008 have aftermarket tail lights on their tC and, if so, which ones and where were they purchased?

I'd just stick with your stocks and black em out if you want something different. Most if not all aftermarket tails are not too great looking.

Yeah, I kept mine in case I didn't end up seeing any others I liked. I like the actual Anzos that are the same style with the red on top and a strip of clear & chrome on the bottom, but that bottom part just ruins it for me...

My original intention was to have these blacked out, since the chrome is a bit off-putting, but I don't feel entirely comfortable with a ghetto rigged pair of aftermarket tails, either.

dude.. you are so trippin'

the tails work for all model years.. as all the taillights for all of them use the same connections with the same bulbs.

the reverse light bulb is a 921 size for all of them.

I had the same ones. Exact same. If you get the 06 wiring harnesses which are like $40 each or less pending on your dealer the 06's fit.

No they actually dont fit the 08 year. Putting them on they do fit on the car and they fit like stock fitment. Fitment on them is not a issue on the 08. I had the exact same anzo's and my buddy traded me for those for his 08's and when we were puttin them on the reverse bulb on the 08 wiring harness would NOT fit. You could push all you want but it wouldn't budge. Thats why i said get the 06 wiring harness and it will work.

hmm... excuse me for my brain fart.. so it's not the "bulb" connection but more an issue with the actual socket screwing in..?

ahh.. my apologies.

*removes foot from mouth*..

Yea thats the word "socket" i couldn't think of what the actual word was if my life depended on it. But thanks for claifying that for me. lol But its all good Squalheart. It wasn't properly stated what he was having a problem with but i knew from experience.

I seriously I thought I got a faulty pair after I said socket and got railed by SquallLHeart for it...lol.

All good, though. If I could've taken a picture, I would've, but there was no way I was going to remove the bumper and take those things off again.

Thanks for letting me know I'm not crazy. I mean, my wife thought I was crazy for standing in the basement garage of our condo, breaking little pieces of plastic out of a tail light housing while all our (elderly) neighbors walked by and gave me weird looks for having the bumper removed off my car, but I'm pretty sure I'm NOT crazy. :p
