i want to put my amp under the driver seat and drill it down. is it safe to do this? will it mess up my amp in any way? help please i plan on doing this on thursday. also i want to place a small fan ontop of it to keep it cool. Life is hard!! deal with it how ever you can! you do what you can and thats the bottom line. |

there isnt much room under there so it probably wont fit. plus the gas tank is under the driver side(i think) and you dont want to put a screw through it. it wouldnt hurt the amp, except not allow much air to get to it. it would be more likely over heat, but probably not a problem if you do put a fan under there. beware of the mad sciontist ! ask me your car audio and electronics questions!! |

If you dont have the underfloor subwoofer a false floor to mount the amp under the trunkfloor (right side) is probibally your best best for amp placement. |

You could use an efficient class d amp like an alpine PDX (they should seriously pay me for advertising) that won't put out much heat and has a small foot print if you really want to put the amp under the seat. Put a small piece of particle board or ply wood under the carpet so you can mount the amp to it without having to drill into the floor. It should fit fine. I was going to do the same thing with one of my PDX's and measured everything up, but I ended up putting it in the hatch instead. ............... ![]() ![]() ![]() Search or one of these adorable kittens WILL DIE! |

you can run you wires along the side of the car underneath the doorsill and then through the Bpillar behind the rear pnael wher the speaker is. Then go under the rear seat and either come up in between the two or through one of the sides depending on where you mount your amp. The ground can go right under the rear seat, but its better to drill your own hole then to ground to the the seat bolt itslef. Make sure you sand the loaction to bare metal where you are going to attach the ground.
