Depends.. Dry ice wrapped in a towel can take it out if the dent isn't too severe.

From what I've seen, applying dry ice on the metal will cause the metal to contract suddenly since dry ice is well.. extremely cold and causes the dent to pop out. But yea, i've only seen it work on dings.

^Exactly! But i'd recommend wrapping it in a paper towel to avoid scratching the paint :o

Anyone willing to try this out on their car? It can't hurt to try.

I tried this on my 92 Mazda Miata and it DID work on some smaller dents in the fender, but not so well on the hood 'cause in 92 the Miata still had an aluminium hood and aluminium has a "memory" and the dent "came back".

And yes, grocery stores do sell it - normally up by the check out lanes. Just remember to handle the dry ice with gloves 'cause you can burn exposed skin if it touches you.

*Bump* I have a small qtr size dent on drivers backside tire near the line, going to attempt the Hair dryer & Dry Ice method on a PDR hoping it will do the trick not wanting to take it to the dealership.

Will be posting photos to show before and after shots

for some reason the hair dryer would not work at all so I switch to the lighter and air dust method. I'll be posting pics soon of the after/before results, not much of a difference i'll say. I'll be attempting again the Hair dryer and air dust (or dry ice) method once I figure out why the hair dryer does not work the the ext. cord.

No, the if you have a dent in your bumper the best thing you can do is get a heat gun and try to massage the dent out.

do you have to heat the dent up first and then cool it down with dry ice?
