i was wondering since black absorbs more heat or whatnot, would the black injen CAI be any different from the silver injen CAI?

the difference would be negligible.

I dont think the color black actually absorbs heat, haha. Generally, because the color black doesn't reflect light as much (thats why its the color black), it has to turn that light energy in to some sort of other energy so that first law of thermodynamics is upheld. That light energy is converted to heat energy.

Under the hood of your car, you dont need to worry about light energy so either the chrome or black intake will be just fine.

(Unless it comes down difference in material, but in that case, color wouldn't matter.)

I have the Black Injen and haven't noticed any difference heat wise... I haven't felt it after running the car to see if it's "hot" or not, but somehow I think they'd think of that if it were going to be an issue...

lol

Yeah, I doubt there would be any difference. You could just put a heat shield on your intake too.

I'm getting an idea so ingenious that my head would explode if even began to know what I was talking about....

all intakes get mad hot, color makes no difference cause theres no light to reflect off the pipe to make it hot
