Need Input: Comment system updates

 I plan on making some updates to the comment system. This includes being able to change pages, post and delete comments without ever having to refresh the page. The changes behind how this works is required for the newer forums, and I need to benchmark / test / build the functionality in an already existing feature to see how it would work in the forums.

Since I'm already making updates to the comments, I'm happy to include other minor things if any of you have requests.

This is for the comment system only. If you post requests for any other system besides the comment feature (that you see on your profile, news, videos, etc), I will do very bad things.

This is a cool idea and very possible. Maybe I can introduce this to the comment system and forums after the forum launch.

I'm trying to devise a system where I can easily plug in any feature on the site to have a rolling list of community updates individualized to a particular user (similar to facebook). This IS on my list to do.

See Orin's request and my response. I'll have a list of notifications individualized to a user about comments made on their profiles, car ratings, thread replies, etc.

The emoticons will be replaced by some sort of community 'project' I come up with. I'll be replacing a few of the existing ones I make and provide templates, so that everyone can make their own emoticons and submit them for inclusion

Let's have a way to have all comments forwarded to PM only. Some users prefer to keep their profiles clean from comments for privacy and other reasons.

Perhaps have a way to disable comments altogether.

Ehhhh, I don't think I like the idea of having comments forwarded to another system.

Internally there is a way to disable comments, perhaps I can add the option for users to 'lock' their comments, or simply disable them completely.

 I think you guys will like the comment upgrades when they are launched.

I'm very close to getting them done, lot's of work has gone into creating more javascript libraries to do more stuff. The same libraries will be used for the newer forums.

I also have a new technique of showing you all what the new changes are; it'll be cool and FUNNY MAYBE I DON'T KNOW OH NO WHY THE CAPS ALL OF A SUDDEN I DON'T THINK I'M THAT GREAT AT COMPUTERS BUT WE WILL SEE.
