Sup guys...i am 18 and i am about to get my first tC today...i am really excited for it. I was planning to get the new Lancer GTS 09 but i after some research, i found out that mitsu engines aren't that great and the value for the car drops like crazy once it leaves the dealer. So my second option was the tC 08 (the limitted edition one)...can't wait to get it!

The scion tC i am getting comes with some sweet features (body kits, racer seats, sun roof...) but thing is, its an automatic...After arguing with my dad over the manual i was convinced to pick the automatic. I really wanted to modify it and add some stuff to it, but it got me thinking...since its not manual, people will diss it alot and call me "ricer" if i try to modify it. So i don't want to over do it...

So i decided to post a topic here and try asking for some tips what can i do to it that won't make me look like a ricer...i am still new with cars and dont know much about it. I am really interested in learning more and getting more into cars. So yea...i mainly wanna focus on modifying the looks of the car (not gonna bother wit performance much since its auto)...so u guys got any tips?

Thanks for all the help

First thing, Tint. Then pick up some lowering springs and a shorty antenna. After then get some HIDs and whatever else. Check my profile if you want a big list. Mine was an auto.

Thanks for the tip Adino...i will look into it soon.

And TruKilla i haven't purchased the car yet...getting it later today. I will post up pics once i get it. Some of the differences are its color and the grill (that i know of). I will get more info once i get it and i will let you know.

the RS4 is a slightly lighter color than mine. I color I had was called Flint Mica (FM, 1E0). The color of the RS4 (special release 4) is Galactic Gray. The magic number for my car was probably somewhere around 3-4k in parts and labor or something like that. I don't really know the exact number.

Listen who gives a shit what others think about your car or you. What makes it cool and unique is that you put your time and energy into making it different. If you wana put a body kit on it or add a Cold Air Intake so be it, do it... plus you have one less thing to worry about when you drive, shifting. haha. So forget about what everyone else thinks and be cool and make your car a beast. Have fun with it too!!!

yeah bro alot of us have automatics but its not so bad. you can still make it sound and run real mean. first start off with the basics. springs, hid's, tint, CAI, and an exhaust. that should be a nice start

Life is hard!! deal with it how ever you can! you do what you can and thats the bottom line.

Every single person on this site will help you with allllll your questions, just as long as you learn to use the search and to stay on topic. We are all one big happy family with tcs. so have you seen anything around that you like as far as styling mods go?

Thanks guys...just a few more minutes before i get my scion =]

And i haven't really decided what to do with it yet...i will do like u said, searched around the forums first see what i like and can afford, and if anything i will ask for help. The first thing i will do with it is just tint my window and i am still debating if i should lower it or not...i really don't want to damage the bottom of the bumpers.

yea bro I had that great debate aswell between auto and manual and I went wit auto but that's just cuz of the convinience of it..... I would say sometimes I hate that I got it auto but it at the end it was a good decision..,,.. I would def start with hids forsure and of course tinted windows.... Well one thing I found out is that the tc has tons of mods and parts so it won't be hard to find what you desire and of course this forum is amazing there is soo much knowledge here it's not even funny, but have fun wit your car bro and if there is anything I can help you wit just let me know

congratulations on the purchase. go with the basic mods as everyone has been saying first and pace yourself. I had an auto 07 and ended up trading it in for a "used" 08 with 74 miles on it for a great deal lol... now I am saving every penny for a turbo kit and all the supporting services and mods that come along with it... this will be quite a wait

Welcom to the site, and have a blast with your car. Mine is auto, i don't care. Shifting can get in the way if your trying to wrap your arm around your girl. ha, ha

Welcome to the club. Throw an exhaust on there, so if someone calls you a ricer you can just nail the gas and drown them out.

Being an auto isn't that bad either. I know personally I probably wouldn't get a car if it was an auto, but thats just because I love the feel of shifting the car. Makes me feel like I have more power and control than I actually do lol. Besides, until your pretty darn good with a manual, an automatic is gonna beat you off the line anyway.
