Hey i wanna get a good intake for my car that gives me good HP and torque for my money. but something around $300 or even better yet, lower. ha
i saw this one and its made for an 07 tC and gives up to 12HP and 9ft/lb torque
this probably one of the better intakes i can get?
http://www.sciongeneration.com/injen-scion-tc-cai-07.html

Im 95% sure you wont get those types of gains out of any intake. However, with intakes, as stated in about 3.2 million threads on the site, you are paying for the name, quality of the welds, and the filter. You can get a mock intake from Ebay for 50 dollars that gives the same performance value.

The SEARCH feature on the site works, I promise. USE IT!!!

like so many b4 have asked CAI/SRI wont do anything except free up pre-existing HP. the stock air box is so restrictive the CAI/SRI allows the car to breath. dont expect anything too much from this yr not gonna go from a 4 cylinder to a V6 when u put it on matter of fact u wont feel much difference at all

hey man i have been looking into intakes for a long time now. from all i've learned....they are all pretty much the same....better sound, no gains. some fit better than others but you mostly pay for the brand name like anything else. some probably have a little better quality than others.

i am probably gonna get a cheap one that i can run sri or cai or get a used fujita or injen, but def. not gonna spend over $100 if possible.

anyways the injen is very popular and you can get it at www.killertc.com for $289 instead of $300 like the link you posted.

beware of the mad sciontist !

if ur looking for more power just go get the following.

v-tec sticker + 200hp
oversized wing + 150hp
and to top it off get some fake HID's thats another + 50hp

with a grand total of 400hp extra.

(caution adding the following parts will cause people to throw rocks at your car. also be warned u might receive a rice ticket)

Life is hard!! deal with it how ever you can! you do what you can and thats the bottom line.

^shouldnt a non-matching bodykit be at the top of your list?
thats an easy 150whp, 10 more if its held on the outside by wood scews(i've seen it done). lol

but to answer the question on the intake, your paying for: the name and the cool woosh sound.

Most you'll gain from an intake on our engine is between 4-6 whp at PEAK hp, which is around 5400 rpm. It serves as a whistle and noise maker at all other rpms.

You also want to be sure the intake you get has a water by-pass filter. That can save you from getting a hydrolocked engine...

It is a good brand intake, but IMO it's a waste of money.

dude for 300 i would just get the TRD CAI.

you wont gain much though.

if your going the N/A route the only way youll gain more HP is if you get headers, port out your piston holes, get bigger pistons, cams, etc.
