shorberg Window Washer	Announcement!! Reliable Scion is hosting the first annual SCION PINUPS Calendar Search! on Sunday October 12th, 2008. Scion Pinups is an idea that we hatched while thinking of a way to replace s3 this year, and what we really wanted to do was have a fun show that would REALLY give back to the owners and show how much we appreciate everything you all do. The show will be a relaxed fun time for all who attend. Anyone in any Scion is welcome to participate. The event runs a few different things all together. CAR SHOW The Scion car show will be held at Reliable Scion on Sunday, October 12th from 10 am - 5 pm. Registration will be for the first 2 hours and we'll begin judging and photography from noon - 4 and have awards done and over by 5pm to give you out of towners to get packed up, go out to eat and head home in time to get a good nights sleep for work on Monday. There will be trophies for the top three of each class Mild and Wild (xB1, xB2, tC, xA and xD) as well as Best of Show, Best I.C.E., Best Wheels, Best Presentation, with some more being added as needed. FREE FOOD We will be catering in some kind of food. Our budget is capable of getting some pretty nice grub, so we're looking at some different ideas on this. My first choice is Larry Ripperger is he is willing and available to cook for everyone. He did the food for our last meeting and it was amazing! He is a competitive BBQ champ and will knock your socks off if we're able to convince him to join up for us. We'll take care of everything, so don't worry about a single thing from water, drinks, silverware, paper plates, snacks, we'll have it under control! Food is NOT to be worried about. ;) LIVE MUSIC I have some calls in to a few people to get some quality entertainment for the show. You'll likely be hanging out in the parking lot cleaning your car, or getting ready to be judged for a portion of the day, which some people call fun . . . but while you are doing so, I don't want you to feel like you are stuck being bored, so I am looking for some quality entertainment for your prep area. I have some good stuff in mind, so stay tuned. ROCK BAND 2!! You all might be aware that Rock Band 2 is coming out soon with all new kinds of songs and features. We'll get a copy of it to play and set it up in our air conditioned waiting lounge where you and your band can come play while you hang out and wait for your photoshoot to be done. CALENDAR SHOOT We're going to be taking some great pics during the show that will turn into a 2009 Calendar. Our goal is to get every car in the calendar and to feature the winners on their own pages. These calendars will be handed out to anyone who would like them from Reliable Scion from November until they run out. I have a quote for 1,000 right now, but if anyone knows a good place to get some nice calendars done for a good price, let me know! BILLBOARD!!! We are also looking for a car to feature on our upcoming Reliable Scion billboard. I am looking at a variety of options for this from digital to print and all kinds of ranges. We'll hand pick a car or selection of cars to feature on this advertisement and you can literally get your "name in lights" as they say. GIVEAWAYS!!! I love a good handout/freebie/schwag as much as anyone. I think you can all attest to Scion and Reliable doing it up really nice for free schwag! There are plenty of things in line for consideration this time around. I think you'll be pretty happy with what we are going to be throwing out for this show! Anything from custom Scion belt buckles to Scion fold out camping chairs and much more. FREE GAS We're really excited about the good MPG all Scions get, especially since we're going to be covering ALOT of gas. We're going to be handing out $750 worth of gas cards for this show. They'll go for all kinds of good stuff like furthest distance traveled, raffles, etc. We're gonna make this show worth it for you if you make it out. We're doing it up big and would love to see your car in our 2009 Calendar or on the giant billboard we're getting ready for! I'd appreciate a sign up list so I can make sure I have enough food, prizes and giveaways for everyone. shorberg Window Washer	All right, been working hard for everyone today, trying to get things figured out. Got a few changes that I don't think are going to ruin anything for anyone. First off, we are going to ask that you pre print the registration forms and fill them out at home to save you time. Don't worry, they aren't ready for you to download yet, but we are going to get them loaded for you soon to look over and We are also going to ask you to bring your car mostly clean if you are local. We are going to need to get your cars photographed and judged starting early. I will go into this in more detail later, but don't worry if you are driving a long distance to get here you will still have time to clean your cars. We want to get the judging and photographs done early for the people who are ready early, but if it takes you longer to get ready that's OK too, we just don't want to try and pile 100 cars on the photographer at once! You all have to give me a little bit of leeway, this is the first calendar I have ever made! ;) In any case, look forward to getting to the dealership earlier than I originally thought. The show will now run from 8am - 5pm. registration must be completed by noon to be in time for judging and photography, the earlier you are ready the better this will be for everyone. OK, So today I did a couple of things. I got you all some Hotel Info. I don't have the full fledged Glow Show decided on, so that'll have to wait but we are going to do something cool for you all so plan on coming down the night before if you can. If you are able to, I recommend either of the following hotels. They are close to the dealership, a car wash and are a really good deal. HOTEL INFO We have a new sponsor for the show. Comfort Inn ( [url]www.comfortinnspringfield.com[/url] ) is going to be offering discounted rooms to anyone who calls in and asks for the Scion Pinups rate. The rate is $64.99 and with tax it's $72.69. YOU MUST RESERVE THE ROOM BEFORE SEP. 27TH TO GET THIS RATE!!! Their address is 3370 E. Battlefield Rd and are basically on the corner of Hwy 65 and Battlefield (which is one exit south of the dealership on Hwy 65.) They have a full hot breakfast which includes waffles, biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, fresh fruit and juice. They also have an outdoor pool, a spa, and wireless internet. Call them at 417-520-6200 to reserve this room. They are also going to sponsor the show, so we are going to be raffling off 5 free nights at any Comfort Inn at the show! The other hotel in on this deal is their partner right next door. It doesn't off as much amenities, but it still a great place and save you a few bucks as well. This place is the Quality Inn South at 3330 E. Battlefield Rd. Their telephone is 417-889-6300. To book a room here, also use the Scion Pinups code when booking that room. The charge for this place is $49 ($55.88 with tax) and they are also giving us 5 rooms to raffle off at the show! YOU MUST RESERVE THE ROOM BEFORE SEP. 27TH TO GET THIS RATE!!! So here's the reason you'll want to get here a bit earlier and have your car cleaner than you've ever had it. One, judging is harsh for cleaning but TWO . . . two is the hard one. The photos are gonna be real high quality, with real lighting and everything. This means that the paint needs to be as polished as it can be. Even if you have a fingerprint on the car, it will show up. Focus on the drivers side and don't dress the tires because you will spit tire shine all over the car on your way over to the studio. with that said . . . So Benjie did a favor for me and brought his car in for a test shoot. We brought him out to the dealership to get everything set up and make sure what we wanted to do would work out. Unfortunately it didn't. The pictures just weren't turning out as good as we'd liked. Too many reflections and whatnot were getting on the cars and it was gonna be a pain in the neck to get it done the right way, so instead we're just gonna get you all over to the studio. At first, I was hesitant to do this because who wants to drive their cars DURING a car show somewhere else . . . then I saw the studio . . . It's pretty cool. He'll be able to do glow shots, perfect pictures, it's gonna be great. I don't have any finished products to show you yet, but check out these shots Darron took on his iPhone while we were there. . . I think you all are in for a treat! Just to sit down and begin taking pictures of your car like this would start at $150not to mention the cost of the editing and printing and everything else, but here you'll be able to have your car sit with a pro and come out looking better than it ever has. He is still selling the prints for your cars and is going to have some background work done on them. He'll do custom prints for you as well with the photos he takes, so if you want some cool pics of your cars this will be the best chance you'll have to do it in such a nice studio and pay next to nothing for the actual prints once they are said and done. He has some display pictures in the studio to give you an idea of what you could get done, and he'll work with you on some different ideas as you like them. Benjie is thinking of having a custom display piece made from it, might not be a bad idea to do something like that! In any case, I am really getting excited about the show. I hope you all are too. In other news! We've got two more sponsors on board. ST Motorsports is also going to be a sponsor for the event. They are going to bring out some trick cars and some display wheels. They are a local place with over 1,000 wheels in stock! They will be holding a raffle for one set of 18" wheels with a retail value of about $1,000. If the wheels aren't exactly what you'd like, they are going to even offer to let you trade them in for something of equal or lesser value or pay the difference for a nicer set. They do basically anything you could get done on a car and will be on site with a gift certificate for one custom leather kit (uninstalled) for whoever wins with a retail value of up to $700. By the way, I wanted to let you all know why I am trying to get these cars as clean as possible. Here is a set of photos, one after Benjie cleaned his car for 2 hours and still had unapparant fingerprints on it in normal light, the second is all the fingerprints that showed up in the studio. This will really catch all the details, so you'll want to get it as clean as possible. Mind you, we'll be able to edit out minor blemishes like a small scratch or rock chip. That's not an issue, but the cleaner your car comes in the better the pics will be. I really wanted to show you these pics because there won't be time to re-clean your cars once they are in the bay and ready to be shot. You'll have time before judging and before the photos to touch up, but once it's in, you need to step back and let him shoot the photos.

Here's the prizes I won in the raffel: Leather shift knob AEM oil cap CARBON FIBER DOOR B PILLAR APPLIQUE!!!! Two Scion Pinups chairs: threr were also A LOT of other AWESOME prizes for xB's, xA's and xD's The photoshoot was pretty cool, too. I wasn't really looking forward to it too much because my tC isn't that great of shape but the photo turned out really good and now I'm thinking of ordering a print. I'm getting an idea so ingenious that my head would explode if even began to know what I was talking about....

I did that once and they gave me a $1000 ticket and a years suspended sentence and a 30 day restriction on my license and then I had to carry sr-22 insurance for 3 years. My advice, get lawyers. It'll be way cheaper in the long run.
