so i got my injen cai in today thanks to carcandy.wootness.install took me an hour and 10 mins due to the heat and trying to get the 2nd pipe in with taking the bumper off(i did it!)
but heres the situation, in cai the filter is close to some wires running from my HID kit(don't ask.dealer installed them.) so thers about a good 8-12" of cord hanging over. i put zipties to hold them in place and they're no longer touching the filter, but should i still be worried?

thanks,
wayne

I highly doubt your dealer installed the HID's. Did u buy your tC new or used?

Hanging wires = horrible install. The zip ties should be all thats needed.

That would be a first if a dealer installed an aftermarket HID kit. Sure they are HIDs and not just the loom of wires that our cars have right under the driver's headlight that are the junction area for all the headlight wires?

THE SHADOW

Yeah, if it looks like a small octopus of wires, it's the junction from the driver's harness and the parking lights.

should they be hanging that low then? i was just afraid that they would be pulled towards the filter and it would fray my wiring.

THE SHADOW

I would have to see a picture. From when I put my intake in and Mayos, I didn't notice wires hanging too low to get in the way. Maybe they were loomed incorrectly from the factory.

If there's no problem I'd leave them out of it. When they see new parts on the car they didn't install, they note that in your file.

THE SHADOW

Nah, it's usually if you put something on and show them something right in the area of the new part. For the most part, they are ok but depending on the advisor and tech, they may note it.

umm i put my intake on in about 45 minutes. didnt need to remove the tire just unscrewed the wheel well and slide the 2nd pipe on and the filter. didnt even need to remove my front bumper. just lifted the car and the wheel sagged enough to reach in above it.
and no u shuldnt have any issues with yr HID wires

you didn't take the tire off? well that would save time. i thought you had to. i guess i'll just switch it to sri when i get home after some sleep. any issues on the clearance between the hood and the intake after i change it to short ram?
