First thing you do with that Evo - get a Buschur Racing Exhaust. It'll make so much more HP.

Bolt ons for the X get ridiculously nasty gains. I think it was 10whp? or something for an intake. I'm sure mightygnu will be here shortly to tell all the specifics.

Well I have an EVO X and my previous car was a Scion tC boosted by Dezod. This is what I tell everyone, if the EVO X is stock, and the tC is boosted, its a drivers race in the quarter mile. On the freeway however, my tC will beat a Stock EVO all day long! All day!

Once you start modding the EVO which I have, and get a tune, this car is a beast. People have already ran 10.9 with barely any mods. To make a tC run 10.9 you have to be built, have a huge turbo, and know how to drive. Not gonna happen. The EVO stock from the factory has no power up top in the RPM band because the boost tapers so much and the AFR's are super rich! PM me with questions!

The EVO however gets horrible gas mileage, I drive like a grandma and I might get 265 to the tank when in my boosted tC I would get 315 to the tank easy.

I am not a fan of the MR because of the transmission, just not the same, and they haven't been proven how much power they can take.

If any of you have questions, PM me, I don't want to read this stupid thread.

I don't want to really get into it, I will answer all PM's, but just some food for thought. This isn't my car..

Here are the Mods:

Mods..... Just so you don't ask....

RRE - 3" Custom Intake
RRE - 3" Custom Lower Intercooler Pipe (cold pipe)
RRE - 2.5" Custom Upper Intercooler Pipe (hot pipe)
RRE - 3" Custom FMIC
RRE - 3" Test Pipe w/ Resonator and CEL Fix
RRE - 3" Exhaust w/ 3 resonators no muffler
ECUtek Boost Control set to 22psi

Here is a little dyno graph...

That's 100 hp gain But remember, you gotta pay to play. The Evo isn't cheap!

There is the comparison between a Stock baseline run and after the modifications. This is tuned with ECUtek. All parts were made by Road Race Engineering in Santa Fe Springs.

Any questions, shoot me a pm!

That, and the amount of money shit puts into gas and maintenance on that vehicle. AWD is not cheap to repair or work on.

That pretty much tells it all. My Evo X soon will not been my DD because its far to costly.

Well, that makes a lot of sense. I'm going to have to shoot all this info over to my g/f.

Buschur Racing is a big name with Evos. They make awesome products.

Their Exhaust for the Evo X makes 28 WHP & 20 WTQ!

Its a great sounding exhaust. It is also $850 for a CATBACK! The EVO world is a whole different story compared to the scion world!

Let me do some pricing for you..

Buscher Catback Exhaust = $850
Buschur Intake = $209
Buschur Lower IC Pipe = $245.00
Buschur Upper IC Pipe = $245.00
Buscher Intercooler = $759.00

Thats $2308 and you still need to pay roughly around $750 for a tune!

Don't get me wrong, those are great parts and you will make great numbers with those, but nothing compared to prices in the scion world!

With those parts, you will be maxing out your injectors and your IDC's will be high, so you'll need a upgraded fuel pump which hasn't been made yet, people are modifying the housing to put a Walbro 255 in there. It is never ending with the EVO!

Feel free to PM me and I can answer your questions.

Get ready to pay to play!

$850 shipped but yeah. Buschur makes awesome stuff.

They got one of the very first Evo's out over the wintertime, and like an hour after they got it, they put on the exhaust

I agree they do, I am just saying, you have to pay to play in the EVO world, its not like the Scion world where things are a little bit cheaper!

That's correct. That doesn't even include a test-pipe which is another $250ish dollars! but hey, once you put in the parts and get the tune, your $3000 deep at least but you have a nice car and that baby is fast.

Keep in mind the nice car payments

I mean I am only paying $300 a month for mine, but I put a hefty amount down

Only $300/mo? Did you include a kidney in the down payment? My God!

Nop, a tC and some cash as well. But my tC was beat to hell, well the exterior and interior was fine, the motor was hurtin. It was turbo'd for a while and I beat the hell out of it, fun car, but the dealer doesn't notice things at all when you go to trade in ;)

Lol. Still though. $300/mo is really good for that baby. We'll have to see what happens and how much the girl will let me play w/ her toy. haha.

Well when you put a lot down. Most people can not afford mods + car payment + bills, its hard. Some of us don't have daddy/mommy helping out.

By Save up, I hope you mean enough to buy the car outright and pay the first year of insurance and then start your modding.
