Im gonna start thinking up new ways to get white and blue done. Like alternate every other number on the gauge in white and blue or something haha. I want it to be unique.

Yup, lookin to do a full swap if possible. I was wondering, have you done the HVAC yet? That big LED screen seems like it might be a PITA.

I thought it only required resistors for redish colors.

its required for every color but red. go here diagram
and pick what color for which led you want to replace and then go here to order them store
remember that the #'s and hash marks need to use the vinyl to do the two tone. basically all the led behind the needles..i think 12 are going to be white then use the vinyl to do the color...lol a lot simpler then me trying to explain it haha

odometer lcd:2
blinkers:2
cruise:2
auto tran: 8

those are the amounts, i need the color yall want

you can use this
diagramto pick what color yall want where on the gauges.

as for yellow gauges just get white leds and yellow vinyl. damn this is alot of work, i should get paid with green not alcohol lol

So I can actually use colored LEDs instead of white leds with a vinyl? I would like to do it that way. Also, theres only 5 or so LEDs for the entire speedometer. I guess thats why you use the vinyl huh hehe. If you get blue LEDs for the back I guess they might make a diff color of blue than when using the vinyl, so maybe THATS why you use the vinyl and all white LEDs ahha.. So 30 white LEDs total for this and that should do it. Also, about the door switches and HVAC and stuff, how many more is required for that? Will I need 2 diff colors of vinyl to make the white and blue? Or do you just use the color of the white LEDs to make the white in the gauges, or do you use a vinyl to modify the color slightly?

nope the gauges face(not counting the warning light section) will be all white led, its more brilliant that way, if you put blue leds it won't be as bright. basically if you want blue color for the silver section of the gauge, you'd get all white leds and then blue vinyl everything to get that more of a brilliant blue. as for the doors its a total of 5 and steering wheel is 3 and those you just use whatever color the led is no vinyl here

Yeah, I figure Ill buy 50 of them with 2 different colors of vinyl. I think I want to do dark blue on light blue, or maybe Ill just do the white on blue. I just wanna do something different ya know.

I just looked at all the clusters and stuff, doesnt seem like this will be too difficult at all. Ill put together a full shopping list of all the resistors and such, shouldnt be a problem at all. What type of soldering gun did you use? I may bring one with me if they arent too expensive.

yup, you are only limited to what colors are available with the leds and vinyl. what about your warning lights? on mine i did it simple i just changed out the ones that weren't red to red and the cruise ctrl to red also...yeah shouldn't have done that it's a bit annoying now lol

I want my warning lights to be blue too, so Ill be doing those in blue and such with the vinyl. Also, I edited post up top while you were responding. I think I might give light blue on blue a shot.

on the warning light section i'd just go with the regular blue led, you want them to be more richer in color than brilliant

Sure thing dude, I figure if Oskar and I are gonna get this done, might as well have another soldering iron there to get the job done. What wattage iron did you get? I dont wanna burn anything up with too much power on the iron. Also, do you have all the soldering supplies, or do we need to bring those too.

Oh, and you guys can give me a call at 936-577-4354. I figure closer to time its gonna be needed for you guys to have my number and for me to have yalls so when we are on the road and away from the internet machine, we can still coordinate.

i use a 25watt iron, it's the best wattage to use, and yeah don't get the resistors for the gauges, dont need them, as for the hvac they do need resistors, but since i havent done mine yet and its a real pita compared to the gauges, i cant really give any advice except for what i read on the forums. as for the soldering supplies i think i have enough, if you have a solder sucker that would be nice if not i have the solder wick also

Well we need to do some experimenting then dont we? Ill be buying some resistors, and we can get your HVAC done too. Ill be down the night of the 17th, what do you have planned around that time, or what day do you want to get all this stuff done. It shouldnt take TOO long to completely do these swaps.
