nahhh, I didnt do them myself, because I didnt have a compressor. I got them installed at a shop for 125.

ah thats cool you got a decent price for the install!
and yeah i dont have the spring compressors either but i think the auto hobby shop on my base has em. im going to have to check it out next weekend

Most of the auto hobby shops on bases have them. The shop here has 2 of them to my knowledge, and Im on a small ass base. Im going to take my car there to do mine as well, let us know how the install goes!

all you need is...

*a spring compressor (about $20 at an auto parts store)
*4 jackstands (one to hold the car up and one to support the suspension)
preferably 2 floorjacks) do the fronts then backs or visa versa
*some sockets and wrenches (sizes listed in DIYs)
*a guide to do it (there are many DIY's here and other tC sites)
*a friend to assist (not neccessry but appreciated)
*a little mechanical ability

you can buy the tools to do it for less than the cost of the install at a shop. PLUS you will still have to tools. You will need them again when you swap the struts/shucks after you put 40k miles on the stock ones. This will save you another hundered buck or so then.

Spring install isn't hard but if you don't know what you're doing, it's best to have someone who does there with you.

Ahh! Dont get the $20 one! Get the $30 one, haha. The difference in price is the difference between a successful job and a stock spring stuck in a broken compressor . Haha, I know that all too well.

spring compressor? we've done a dozen or so spring installs w/o a spring compressor.

leonard, dont forget to cut the bumpstops. also, good choice with the s.techs.
