It's all your preference. It mainly depends on how low you feel safe going, and also how much stress you want to place on the shocks/struts. If you go with a brand OTHER than the TRD springs, you will most likely have to replace the OEM Struts much sooner than if you get the TRD. TRD Drop is approx 1.25" to begin with, but after it settles, it goes down to more like 1.5" to 1.75" ![]() Scikotics NJ is sponsored by Lawrence Scion 2006 GReddy Turbocharged Automatic tC 220+ WHP - 14.044 @ 97.02 MPH |

Yes - they will settle in lower, and as time goes by (and your shocks wear out), they'll sink lower. I bought my TRD springs used, and they settled lower... and now that my shocks are very worn (almost 60k miles), they're at like, s-tech height (2+ inches lower)! ![]() Scikotics NJ is sponsored by Lawrence Scion 2006 GReddy Turbocharged Automatic tC 220+ WHP - 14.044 @ 97.02 MPH |

Yep, when I first got my TRD springs the drop was subtle, but now they look even better (about 1.5 + after while) |

So, how long would my struts last on hotchkis. I'm putting my hotchkis springs on tomorrow with web and frankryzzo. Sorry to threadjack, Anyways, yea if your worries about being too low then trd is a good choice, because overtime as you want to go lower, they will haha. ![]() -Thanks for the sig Aciidsneaker |

The time your struts/shocks last with a decent drop is going to depend on your driving style and the roads you drive on. If you live in pothole land, it's going to be a good idea to get better shocks and struts. |

TRD Lowering Springs are great and everything but if your willing to pay $200 from the dealer talk to Greg at Carcandymotorsports.com and he'll hook ya up with Progress Tech Lowering Springs (im buying some next week) and they lower your car 1.8" and they're running around $160 shipped and from what Mayo told me (he's running Progess also) he's had them on his stock struts and havent had any problems. Of course I'm planning on buying Koni Adjustable Struts soon after installing the springs (also from Greg) so idk check around and see what prices, drop, and comments people have on they're springs and choose one that'll suit you most importantly |

^I'd have to agree. I bought the TRD because of the dealer discount I got, but if I had $200 to spend, I'd be getting Progress springs fo sho |

Thats what im getting progress springs and tokico struts/shocks. i cant wait..im just glad i saved up about 2000(that was gonna go towards my gti, until i decided i was to in love with my tC.) and 1000 is for my car the other 1000 is for college spending money or gas lol At first you wont really notice the TRD drop but in a month from being settled they will look clean..even better with new rims. |

25mm is 1 inch..25.4 to be exact..i like the stech is you like it slammed or the htechs if you dont. $199 isnt bad if that includes the install and factory warranty. most aftermarkets are around $200 for the springs. beware of the mad sciontist ! ask me your car audio and electronics questions!! a little signature love for good sellers.... How much would the dealership charge to install the TRD springs? I am very hesitant to try anything spring/shock related on my own, and I don't want to go to a shop unless I get a warranty(which i know toyota would give). I also live in an area where i have to drive over 259,239 speed bumps a day. So if I lower, it would have to be very minimal... which the TRD seem to be. Any thoughts on this? |
