Might be a dumb question but i was wondering if they are worth the money? And do they make your exhaust sound a lot different?

Thanks

Keith

THE SHADOW

It'll increase the exhaust tone slightly but not by much. If you're planning on doing more modding to the exhaust or engine, then I would suggest getting it.

What's your goal for the exhaust? Full 2.5"? Or do you just want to change the tone a bit. Changing the s-pipe and midpipe will help.

The S-pipe is probably one of most misunderstood exhaust parts there is.

The difference among brands/designs will yield no significant difference in performance (among the same diameter pipe)

It's a pipe..there is no magical mechanism that will yield super exhaust flow.

Check out things like the quality of the steel and fit.

edit

for the OP, yes they are worth it when building your full exhaust + it may make your exhaust tone change slightly.

That's the truth. Invidia is 2.5" though, if I'm not mistaken.

Oil Changer

I think the S pipe gives a little bit of backpressure since its like a bottle neck kinda. I also think that unless your going turbo to jus leave it be...your only going to get 1-2 hp anyways and its going to make ur exhaust sound alot more raspier.

THE SHADOW

Nah, midpipe and header are where the rasp comes from b/c of the resonator/CAT removal on some designs. Spipe with stock midpipe won't sound bad, heard plenty of them with no rasp.

Yep - the rasp makers are mostly the headers.

Chief Mechanic

look for a used one. $150 for the Invidia unit isn't worth it.
