well i found an amp but i dont know if its powerful enought to power my sub to the max or not. well the amp is

Alpine 800 watts, Class D MonoBlock Amplifier
RMS Power Output:
4 ohms: 500 watts x 1 channels
2 ohms: 800 watts x 1 channels
Frequency Response: 20 Hz - 200 Hz
Crossover Frequency: 50 Hz - 200 Hz

and the sub is a single Rockford hx2 10in
Peak Power Handling: 1000 watts
RMS Power Range: 500 watts
Impedance: Dual 4 ohms
Two 3" 4 Layer LXtended Voice Coils

or is there any other amp that would be good tell me.

That amp will be more then enough to power that sub. Since the sub is a dual 4ohm, it will be running at either 2 ohms or 8 ohms. I assume you will wire it for 2 ohms, so you should be fine with that amp. Just don't turn the gain all the way up or you could blow the sub. That amp should hit around 1600w at peak power at 2ohms.

I'd get the apline pdx 1.600.

600w rms stable at 2 or 4 ohms. I have one and it hits hard and clear.

I had a feeling you were going to ask me that, lol. A dual voicecoil sub has two sets of + and - hookups on the back of the sub. Depending on how you wire them will determine it impedence. Take a look at this, and ask if you have any other questions. I'll be glad to help.

This shows the basics, but its for a 2 ohm speaker. Its the same thing though. Yours will either be 2 or 8 ohm instead of 1 or 4 ohms.

Yeah. You don't want an 8 ohm load in a car. You'll get nothing out of the amp if it is even capable of running at 8 ohms, which most aren't. Wire for 2 ohms and you'll be good to go, just watch that amp because if your sub is 1000w max, that amp is going to put out 1600w at peak power at 2 ohms.

dont worry about peak power ratings, it is an unachievable number in a vehicle setting. it is just a laboratory spec they put on it to make it seam really powerful. thats why cheap amp companies put it on the amp it self. take a look at a quality amp's specs and it will rarely mention a max rating. RMS power is continuous usable power, that is what you need to focus on. just get an amp that puts out the RMS wattage need by the subs at whatever ohm load you run. dont fall in to the max power trap and get something that is not powerful enough. i agree the alpine pdx600.1 is a good amp, the first one you mentioned will work but is a little overkill, but would leave room later on if you wanted to add another sub. believe me once you get used to 1 ten you will want to upgrade. i started with one 10 in 1994 and my last vehicle had 4 12's, haha. i only run two now cuz the tC is smaller than my jeep was.

Its a cleaner, more efficient amp. It is closer to the actual power output you need. Its smaller and cooler. Its just a better amp all around. The sound quality is outstanding.

sites to check for a good price

sonicelectronix.com
ikesound.com
onlinecarstereo.com (this is where i got mine because i was having trouble finding it in stock at the other two)
