HELP in choosing new tires!!

Ok, so the time has come for me to get new tires....
I got stock rims (17s) on my 07 tc...As of now, I got a set of Kumho Ecsta tires. They have lasted me for about 20,000 miles; I have no thread left :-(....I can't really complain about them, but I think I can get something better.
I am trying to get a set of All-Season tires....I don't really care for the brand (because I don't really know much about tires in general), but I do want something that is all season, and high performance if possible.
I live in MD (Rockville), so the weather can vary (dry, wet, or snowy)....
My budget for the All-Season tires I want is around $500-$600

Please, Help me out with your suggestions.

So far I went to Sears Auto Center to check out some tires, but the salesman that helped me out seemed to know NOTHING about tires, so I just left the place..... I tried Costco, but they said that they didn't carry tires for my car....Which I thought was stupid! considering they sale "all" types of tires........

So overall, I need help with choosing the new set of tires, and if possible, recommendations of places where I can buy them that you all know about....whether is Sears, Costco, or whatever...

Thank you all.......I appreciate your help in this matter!!

I've gotten very good performance in MD with my Avon Mach 550's. Got them through tirerack.com and they are in your price range.

I've heard good things about the ones Armygirl recommended as well but I have no experience with them.

I had stock Yokohama S32A and they lasted for bout 30,000 miles so when i needed new tires i checked out tires-easy.com and bought 4 NEXEN N3000's and so far i havent had any problems driving in the rain here in Arkansas. I can tell a huge difference in gripping and handling comapred to the Yokohama's. Plus the Yokohama's are running 200 a tire and i paid around $70 a tire so i reccomend NEXEN N3000's all the way.

check out Nitto Neo Gens as well. They have great grip in wet/dry and are more suitable for camber.
