Ok, was wondering if this has happened to anyone. I just installed my Hotchkis Rear Sway Bar and am encountering a horrible noise. It seems like something is loose but everything is tight. It's dark now so can't jack it back up and inspect things more thoroughly. Anybody experience this problem? Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. -Ben Franklin |

I didn't. You remember to grease the bushings? ![]() |

It's all greased up. To be honest I was not happy with the install. The new brackets for the polyurethane bushings did not fit originally. They come slotted but the bracket is oversized so it interferes with the mounting holes. I had to take my dremel and make the slots larger just for correct fitment. Everything is greased but the noise is not coming from that area at all. The noise is coming from the location of the wheels. It's real bad on one side and not as bad on the other. Freaking killing me! Could this be from having it on the stiffest setting? Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. -Ben Franklin |

Been in any wrecks that would affect the frame or linkage back there? I have mine on the stiffest setting and get none of this noise you speak of. ![]() |

Did you use an alan key along with a 14mm open end wrench to tighten the sway bar links? If not, the links are loose. That's what almost always causes a knocking noise in the corners of cars, other than strut mounts. You can tighten them pretty tight just by twisting the bolt, but you have to hold an alan key in the center slot and tighten around it. I think it's a 6 or 8mm key. Mine started to make a knocking noise when going over uneven bumps after my uninstallation and reinstallation of my bar. I took it into the shop where I worked at and the tech used an alan key (which I did not) and tightened it. Right away, no noise ever since. ![]() Complaining is futile when you supported the victory. |

I'm going to tighten everything again today. I don't think its going to solve the problem. I have a feeling the endlinks are bad. Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. -Ben Franklin |

Well I torqued everything done again. I also flipped the one end link on the right side where the majority of the noise was coming from. Don't know if I put that endlink on correct. Had to throw everything in the car real quick when I was in the middle of the install since my hand slipped and got a major laceration in my hand from the exhaust cover underneath. Four stitches later haha I was able to put everything back but my orientation system was gone. Took it for a test drive and the noise seemed to disappear. After a little bit though I'm starting to hear a whirling sound coming from the other side. Sounds like metal against metal. The further I drive the louder it gets. I really think it's the endlinks. They are rusted and look straight beat. Just taking them off caused alot of the grease to come out of the boots. So, going to try to flip the endlink on the other side and torque em down and see if the whirling goes away but on the other end I'm ordering new ones from Dezod. You've got me confused. Whirling metal sound? Can't say I've heard anything like that. ![]() |

It sounds like when you have uneven tire tread or misalignment and you get a whirling noise from the tire but its not the tire and is higher in tone like if you take two peices of metal and rub them together in a circular fashion. I know it's wierd and it is becoming mad frustrating! Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. -Ben Franklin |

You got something funky going on underneath your tC's backside. And you should have bent that exhaust cover out of the way or removed it... I bent it, then bent it back into shape when I was done. ![]() |

I think it is just metal to metal contact from the endlinks. Need to drive it more to see if it gets worse. Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. -Ben Franklin |

Well I sprayed PB Blaster all over the endlink connections. The noise dissipated and is now entirely gone. So the conclusion is the endlinks are the cause. Ordered the Dezod performance endlinks and should have them in a couple of days. Problem solved Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. -Ben Franklin |
