So for Graduation my parents decided to get me new wheels/tires! I got to pick out what i wanted and decided on 17x7.5 Konig Feathers (Gold) and for tires i went with 225/45/17 Nitto Invos. I can't wait to get them and i'll take pictures as soon as i get them on but here are the wheels and tires themselves...

17x7.5 Konig Feather

Not bad at all - that's pretty light. My 17x7 wheels are 17 Pounds - light enough for my liking

I wanted a lightweight wheel (as in the lightest i could find) but was told that they wouldn't hold up being driven daily. So i decided to stay above 16 lbs and these really caught my eye.

With enough tire underneath they should hold up OK. My 17 pounders are in ok condition. Some have curb rash cuz I'm a doofus. Paint's peeling on one but that's cuz of road salt.. but otherwise, they're all still round!

You have to figure in Tire weight too. Some tires get pretty heavy. Not sure how those Invos will be but good luck. What size tires did you get? 225/45R17?

^Yea...since the wheels are 1/2 in. bigger then stock i decided to go with a wider tire. Plus they don't make Invo's in a 215/45/17. Idk though...think i should go with a different tire? I want 225's though.

Go with it unless you live in a place where it snows. I want to hear some reviews of that tire.

^haha me too! It's impossible to find anything on these tires. I have snow wheels/tires so i want a high performance summer tire. The incredible looking tread of the Invo's obviously caught my eye. I want to give them a shot, but the lack of info on them makes me worry a little.

To let everyone know that having "super lightweight" rims for daily driving and the whole statement that it is bad is a MYTH!

The weight / strength of the rim DOES NOT SUPPORT YOUR CAR AT ALL!!

Your tires and the air pressure in them is what supports your car and carrys all the loads!

Your rims will only become non-round if your hitting potholes so fast and hard that the tire flexes enough where it actually impacts with the rim but that only happens when you actually have a blowout. Doesn't matter what rim you have in that situation!

Now if your known to hit curbs every once in awhile THEN DON'T GET LIGHTWEIGHT RIMS! That's where people have problems with them. But I would suggest not to get nice rims all together if you have that problem haha.

Hahaha..Agreed. But i've only had one minor incident with a curb and i learned my lesson so im real careful around them now.

I'm sure they're good tires. I just haven't heard of anyone using them really.

If you want a proven tire, the Falken Azenis RT-615's are an awesome tire for the road. A lot of drifters use 'em
