I saw on some xbox hacking forum a guy who fixed his circle of death by baking the 360 in a towel in the oven like we would do our headlights to install halo. His was modded, so he didn't have the option to send it back in, so he tried a home remedy, lol. When this happened to my firend's 360, they ended up sending him a new one because it was taking too long to fix because of all the returns. I gotta comend microsoft on fixing this issue. They spent over a billion dollars to do this recall. I'm sure Gates could find that under his couch, but nonetheless that's good business. ............... Donate or one of these adorable kittens WILL DIE!

silversurfer897 Reg'd: Dec 14, 2005 Tech Advisor	I had this happen about six months ago. I did everything through the website and got everything fixed for free which was awesome because I got my 360 on '05 I think so the warranty was expired. But since so many consoles were experiencing this problem, Microsoft gave an extended warranty covering the red ring of death.

CrashUSAF Reg'd: Apr 17, 2008 Godlike Advisor	Microsoft was supposed to have this taken care of. It started with bad soldering on the circuit boards inside the consoles. The soldering will come loose over time and no longer function correctly in the 1st gen 360s. It is still possible to have "general hardware failure" on the newer consoles, but thats on anything electronic you buy. The mass failure rate no longer exists, but every now and then, lets face it, someone is going to get a console that breaks. The SEARCH feature on the site works, I promise. USE IT!!! So Im assuming this means I get a new 360, hopefully they send me one with a hard drive so Ill have 2 of them. Ive heard of this happening before haha.
