Hey guys, this is probably here somewhere but I didn-t bother to search just because if it was put on here already and it hasn-t been fixed, it was proboably forgotten.I think we need signature banners so people can show off their car or their photoshop skills like mine But at the same time, I don-t want to have to put it my post everytime because I can-t put it in my signature. But I will do so until we get to put them in your sigs.Hope you guys are paying attention. Thanks

I completely disagree because that banner of yours takes up a huge amount of space and is disrespectful to those that don-t have high-speed internet, especially when it has to be displayed in every other post! The -show off- area is designed specifically for the purpose you mention above, but without forcing everyone to see it...

my banner my be big but it-s only 241k. Not big at all. I am in other toyota forums and everyone else has banners and no one complains, you should check out other car forums like mazdas. Some people have more than one pic in their sigs. I don-t think it-s a bad idea. The size of the banner doesn-t take up posting space, big or small. It is my post and I should be allowed to place whatever I like.

-only 241k-Dude...that is HUGE! I-m not on dial-up but that is still annoying. I really don-t care what other car sites do. The only other one I-m on does NOT allow what you are suggesting. I tend to keep to Yahoo groups for this very reason. What you are suggesting is fluff that hinders my ability to read posts quickly...and it does slow load time, even on high bandwidth. If I could have the option to NOT see it, I-d say go ahead...but if I have to, I-d rather not...

For our members on 56k dialup, a 241k picture will take approximately 48 seconds to download, not counting the rest of the page/graphics ... and that-s best case scenario, not taking into account network latency inbetween. Realistically, it would take 2 minutes to load your graphic alone. Most people are on broadband, but that doesn-t mean we can just forget about those that aren-t.In the end, it-s scionadmin-s call but I say nay, espcially since we now have the show off thread for the purpose you describe.

Well, that-s cool. I respect your opinion. But I like having my banner around on forums so it-ll be here until I guess I get banned for some silly reason like posting banners......I understand that we need to keep in mind of the 56K people. But, out of curiosity, how many people that are here run 56K?

Whoa that is one huge sig!!!I mean I seen small signatures.....but wow. I am on a 1280x1024 resolution and I have to scroll horizontally to see the whole post! Reckless, that image is way too big. Usually signatures are around 300 x 100 pixels. I never really made a rules saying there are no signatures, but that image u have is a POSTER. Make a small one then let me see it.

just fyi, when you post in an old, or -forgotten-, thread, your post would -bump- that thread, and itll be moved to the top.i disagree with the banner posting. there IS a showoff area, and if you take pride in your creations, then by all means, show them off. however, posting that huge banner in every single one of your posts is very inconsiderate. first off, the 56k-ers will suffer, especially if you post repeatedly in the same thread. secondly, i know that most forumers would not want to continually scroll horizontally to read posts. i remember a while ago, there was this member who had a huge avatar, and people already complained that his avatar was making them scroll excessively.and you obviously dont understand that we need to keep the 56k-ers in mind because you still are posting that huge banner. if you insist on posting a banner, why dont you shrink it to the size that racingsolution provided? it doesnt look any less attractive. oh, and btw, i like your banner, looks good.

Thanks. I just checked out the banner and that looks ok. I mean, if there-s is a resolution limit for banners then that-s cool too, but I was just saying that in the signature section, it only displays the link and not the actual image so I would always have to put it at the end of my post. That size looks good for now, so I will adjust it for evryone-s sake lol. But as I get mods, I may have to make it a little bit bigger so people can see my mods.It-s always good to see people finding middle ground Thanks, guys!So I guess the next questions are...are you guys going to allow image support in the signatures? and what is the resolution limit for them?(no banner because it-s going to have to be worked on )

I-m completely confused... Are banners prohibited on this forum? Or is there a certain size that you are aloud to have?I think signatures are great, it-s a little faster way of telling who is who, plus it shows off the car a little bit .
