I am not going to point fingers, but some profiles have been making up numbers for their stock tC, especially in the weight department (shame shame) Let's clear this up shall we? The weight of the Scion tC from 05-09 hasn't changed anything above 20 lbs. The curb weight of a manual tC is 2,901 lbs The curb weight of an automatic tC is 2,965 lbs Here is Mirriam-Webster's definition of curb weight: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/curb%20weight ^ curb weight does not include the driver. stay on topic ---- derails will be deleted---added June 8th 2008 21:30 est |

hey orin since I know you did the peel and seal insulation (maybe you did the other brand) what do you think you are at weight wise now.. just curious cause I'm working on that at the moment Chuck Norris is currently suing myspace for taking the name of what he calls everything around you. |

^^^ I only added 5 lbs of it to my car so far. If I did the whole car it'd most likely add 20 lbs. My weight + curb weight of tC = 3,230 lbs (estimate) |

Please please please correct me if I'm wrong, but I have my Scion 2008/Winter/Spring book from the dealership right here and it says the curb weight is 2,932 for the manual and 2,987 for the automatic tCs. I'm not doubting that your right, I was just wondering if anybody else caught this from the Scion catalog as well... ![]() http://i247.photobucket.c...iztidlilgoth/tcweight.jpg (sorry the above picture is small, but heres a link) ![]() Livin' Loud & Addicted to Bass http://cardomain.com/ride/3086512 |

That's 2008. Is that without or with all the airbags? I'm willing to bet, there's some difference between the 2005 to 2009 models. A lot may hinge on features that were once options (2005), that are now stock (2009) that drove up the weight. ![]() |

there is going to be variation from source to source. the first post on this thread is from http://www.edmunds.com/ The variation my be anywhere from 20-30 lbs depending on where you read up. This post was created when I saw one user quoting his vehicle weight as 2,400 lbs on a stock tC |

I use the scale at the track. My car weighs 3100 Pounds. That's with the spare tire out, jack out, nothing in the trunk... And of course, me in it. Without me it's closer to 2900 (180 + clothing + helmet & gear + camera that I run with). That's Including the turbo... ![]() Scikotics NJ is sponsored by Lawrence Scion 2006 GReddy Turbocharged Automatic tC 220+ WHP - 14.044 @ 97.02 MPH |

w/ a full tank of gas, and me in it my car weighs in at 3230, thats w/ my turbo, 2 subs, secondary red-top optima battery in trunk, amp, 2 extra speakers, custom built box (by me) insulated pannels and sound deadning materials, w/ spare still in place and all original stuff the only thing i dont have is curtain air bags 3230 lbs w/ me in the car -=RS2 Scion XtC=- I drink gasoline and fart carbon monoxide. |

When I though a booming car was what I really wanted, I had a huge sub box at my trunk with dual 12's. The thing weighed at least 100 lbs. I removed it and let me tell you, 100 lbs is noticeable! The tC can be one serious ride if you can get that weight down. Unfortunately, cutting the weight in the tC can come at the cost of safety/comfort. If you're building a track only car, gut that AC, scrap that roof, cut some steel. |

Someone on SL weighed a manual tC and it was actually less that what scion.com says. The 4 LED_Headz: Ed (etli), Trung (SquallLHeart), Alan (O5_TRD_tC), and Paul (Dakine) |
