Not all of us were privileged enough or lucky enough to have the tC as our first ride. So to those who've had to endure driving a POS to get to work or school everyday this threads for you!!

So post a pic of the worst car you ever owned or had to drive. Doesn't have to be a photo of the actual car, god knows I didn't give a rats ass about mine enough to take a picture of it.

My 1990 Ford Tempo 5 spd Hybrid, when I say Hybrid I mean it was a mix of a Ford Tempo and a Mercury Tracer compiled together after what looked like a roll over accident and then repainted with a flat primer white paint..

- Pros
-great gas mileage
-no car payment
-low car insurance (although I believe my health insurance went up when they found I was driving this death trap)

- Cons
-brakes went out and sent me flying through an intersection at 60mph (no e-brake either)
-rear struts blown out so when I'd power shift from 1st to 2nd the bumper would slam the ground.
-rear doors did not open (at all)
-steering wheel actually came off one day going through a taco bell drive through

Well I could go on & on but that would take way to damn long.......

Just Keep Swimming!

cant find a pic now but will later. my 2001 Chevy Malibu LS. The brakes were dead and on the ground. the seats kept moving around and the car shook when it reached 50 mph :/
the car may have been not too old but it had 4 previous owners as well as it was run down to the ground worse than a car thats 20 yrs old :/

My first car was a 1984 "shit brown" Volvo 240 DL. This isn't as pic of my actual car, as mine was much more faded and covered in rust and bumper stickers. It had 209,000 miles on it when I finally got rid of it for an 89 Celica GT. I've never left toyota sonce, owning 2 Celica's and I still have an 88 4runner that is in the process of a complete restoration and customization.

I had an '89 chevy corsica. The bad part was that the gas gauge on the dash never worked so it was always a guessing about how much gas i had lol. And the odometer didn't work properly, it would only move when you went over 45 mph lol. After 45 mph it was still a guessing game cuz the odometer would either start adding miles or going backwards and taking them awayyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!! Who knows how many miles that car had jajajaja..........

Detailer

Ok - showing my age here...

1970 Buick LeSabre (4 door)

It was butter yellow with a black vinyl top and black vinyl interior.

Pros -
Big engine (great for drag racing)
Could carry 10 friends at one time
It was FREE

Cons -
It was a land yacht
It only had AM radio
It ran on leaded gas (which was not available in the mid 80s) so it coughed every time I turned it off
Black vinyl interior in Georgia heat...need I say more???

But, at 17 when my parents told me I could have it as long as I paid for gas, I was so happy!!! It died shortly before I went to college and then I got a 1986 Renault Alliance...that is a story for another time! ;)

I don't have a picture with me on my work computer, but...

1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee

- Paid $239/mo for 60 months (from 16 years old to about 20)
- Was in 2 wrecks (gotta say tho... I did total 3 Hondas )
- Currently on it's 3rd transmission
- Passenger side windows work whenever the hell they feel like it. Solution: press the lock, unlock, and lock buttons (in that order) on the remote WHILE driving.
- Won't stay running. Will run fine for a while, but then randomly shuts off. There's a bad ground... somewhere.
- Sunroof won't go back.
- All door speakers are blown
- OEM Head Unit blown (I blame spiders and dust)
- Large dent in the rear end (that's what she said)
- Driver door locks and unlocks with remote... again, if it feels like it. It's fun to have all the doors unlock except the one you're getting in. THEN you need the key. damn.
- Constantly goes out of alignment
- Heating and A/C: it works. However, it blows all in the passenger side floor. Set it on defrost - passenger side floor. Set it on vents - passenger side floor.
- 0-60 in 15.5 hours
- Scion tC's back seat is larger than the Jeep's.
- 14 MPG on a good day.

I could keep going, but... I'm tired of typing.

Oh, and it's for sale! Anyone interested? Haha!

1992 Mercury Tracer.
Color: Faded Red
Rims: 14 inch wheels with hubcaps
Mileage: 200+k
Transmission: In its end days, reverse no longer worked.

Pros: Cheap to fill up, nice trunk room, and comfortable interior.

Cons: Reverse didnt work, had rust holes in spots there shouldnt be rust, cracked windshield, ripped up seats, no e-brake, windshield wipers would fall off, leaked oil like crazy, smoked a lot, and wouldnt go faster than 70 mph.

My 91 Chevy Berretta. Owned it from 99 to 05. Bought it in cash for $3,500

-2 months after i bought it many things went wrong
-at one point, the car would only stay on if i had it in reverse. Oh, and this happened at a stop light, luckily it was empty when it happened...i had to reverse into a parking lot
--that led to a new transmission
-last year and a half it had a cracked engine block...everytime i hit the gas hard, coolant would spray out, haha.

after all that, i still loved that car

1989 Hyundai Exel. I never thought I would make it to 20 because of that car. It was a manual with a shot transmission.

My car isn't the fastest car out there, but I'll tell ya....

1990 Audi 100

I got it with a shot tranny for $500. Rebuilt tranny for $1300. That thing was longer than a 7 series BMW, had an inline 5 cylinder engine with a linkage throttle (that's right, metal bars! not even a cable!), it had an angle iron welded in the rear on an angle to work as a tie bar or stabilizer or something, but it was OEM.

Worst car was my first car 89 Mitsubishi Mirage. I didnt want the car after i looked at it but my mom being as car nieve as she is basically took the money from my hands and paid for the car.

It never was able to pass a Maryland state inspection and even with enough to make it run decently it still needed another 4-5g's of work to get it to pass. Mind you this is about 1999.

The most expensive car ive owned maitenance wise was my deuce. I had to do quite alot of work to her but lord did I love that car.

My 1st car, it was a 1985 Honda Civic Hatch. Not only was it extremely Fugly but it had no air conditioning. And it was my 1st year in Arizona and first time I've ever been in 125 degree heat without a/c! Other than that it still ran pretty well for having over 200K miles on it!
