Ok, so here it goes, my first review, feel free for some constructive criticism. I thought the tC from the start was a little like driving a boat. That was one drawback of the car, in my opinion. I felt like little motions of the steering wheel were overlooked. So i decided to buy a strut bar, not knowing what i was exactly gonna gain from it. I installed it in like 10 min and i would say it was a 2/10 on ease of installation I took it right out for a drive after lowering the car off of the jack. The car drove way different in a good way! I love this MOD. It was so easy and it changes the handling more than anything else. I really didn't think this bar would do too much, however i was wrong. Just install one and see for yourself. I am eventually going to install a whole suspension system, however this was a great start. Any questions feel free to ask me! Strut bars can provoke understeer, and that's about it-- they stiffen the front end, which actually reduces compliance. Our strut towers are part of the firewall, so we have no tower flex beyond what is designed in to increase compliance and roadholding. Many FWD cars will actually turn better with no strut bar. Don't fall victim to the powers of the butt dyno. I can all but guarantee you-- if I snuck into your garage and took that bar out while you were sleeping, you'd drive for weeks and never know until you popped the hood and saw that it was gone. It's an accent piece. I have a DC bar because it was cheapest (at the time) and it looks nice. ![]() Custom parts for your Scion tC: Doctor Isotope dot Com |

Nice job. You'll feel most of its benefit when going up a hill that has a slight turn at the top but you're still traveling about 30+ mph. That's where I've noticed that the front end tends to lay flatter rather than have an effect where one wheel seems to have more weight on it. ![]() I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones. I totally agree web! The most difference you feel is at speeds of like 30+. I use the freeway to get to work and to come home and there is a horseshoe onramp, and a horseshoe off ramp. I took those corners faster and with better handling than i ever have. It does make a difference. |

So I guess psychologically, in terms of tC front strut tower bars, the perception of change is equivalent to actual change. If only the same could be said for every bolt-on mod. ![]() Custom parts for your Scion tC: Doctor Isotope dot Com |

Wait until you do the rear ingalls brace, if that's what you get. That one feels a good bit better in the middle to rear of the car. Stays more stable overall on turns. Never hurts to thicken up weak spots in the overall design of the unibody for our cars. Our struts are located right on the corners of the unibody, which are strong in general, but adding another brace at those points just strengthens them more. ![]() I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.
