So I was waxing my car over the weekend and I noticed that on my passenger fender, between the hood and fender(towards the windsheild) that it was rusting...I drive the highways to go back and forth to work and I know I have some paint chips on the hood, but this one is rusting!!! I have 6000 miles on my car!! I don't know what to do, I'm kinda mad. Should I take it back to the dealership? My family has a bodyshop and I spoke with the guy there and he told me to take it back to the dealership. I don't know-and they know my family has a shop. HELP!!!!!!!!

Wow, rust after 6k miles? Sucks. Hmm, its not exactly something you can buff out, haha. It might be best to touch it up with a little paint.

Basically what you'll be doing is sanding it down, painting and then clearcoating. Im sure www.automotivetouchup.com will be useful should you decide to do it yourself. Gimme a sec to find a DIY.

But if not, Im sure a shop would fix it up for you in a jiffy.

Edit: I fail, haha. Thanks Cesar!

Well I called my dealership today and I have an appointment on Friday with the service manager to have a look at it. He told me if it is a stone chip scion won't fix it, only if it was a defect in the paint. But all the other stone chips didn't rust!

Maybe I'll wear something nice to get him to fix it!!!!!
