Like the title sez, I'm trying to find good websites for wiring accessories. I'm trying to find some larger gauge stuff then the standard 10/12Awg and smaller that is common at auto stores and walmarts, etc. I'm trying to find butt connectors, spade terminals, heat shrink, and wire loom for 2-8Awg. I've found a couple sites, but if anyone knows a place that they've used before and is reliable, let a brotha know. Thanx If anyone is wondering why, I want to do a clean install of the distribution blocks I got for the new battery terminals and I'll need to extend a couple wires on my grounding kit, as well as the stock power cables that I had to cut to fit the new terminal block. ............... ![]() ![]() ![]() Search or one of these adorable kittens WILL DIE! |

What about Crutchfield? Not cheap, but they have a ton of that stuff. My car isn't the fastest car out there, but I'll tell ya.... Sometimes I haul more ass than a pimp driving a caddy full of hoes. Me to Pathik at PRacing.com about modding cars "It's like crack, but you don't lose as much weight...also you don't blow people for performance parts. So I guess it's nothing like crack" |

Yeah, I wasn't able to find what I was looking for on wither of those sites. Radio shack has all the stuff, just not big enough to do 8 and 4 gauge wire. ............... ![]() ![]() ![]() Search or one of these adorable kittens WILL DIE! |

Find other people who need installs in your area, and turn around and make a bit of your money back for it with the extra My car isn't the fastest car out there, but I'll tell ya.... Well for a sub installation, you can run it along the bottom of the cars (wiring channel) and into the trunk grommet. Figure it would help people who are interested in making sure their wiring doesn't fry. My car isn't the fastest car out there, but I'll tell ya.... http://cableorganizer.com/ I use that site for a lot of my wiring stuff. Try out the braided sleeve, it makes exposed wiring look really nice. |

My local shop (RPM Richmond, VA woot! They're awesome!) gives me their leftover cables from installs at dirt cheap. I got like... 20ft of 0 gauge, probably 30-40 ft of 8 gauge, 20ft of speaker wire, crimps, etc. for like... 50 bucks. If there's a local shop nearby, see if they can give you some of the leftover stuff - you'll get it for a ton cheaper than buying by the foot off a loom they have to measure and cut. Plus, you get it right then and don't have to wait for it to come in. |

I wish I was fortunate enough to have a shop like that around my way. The custom shop by me is run by a bunch of douche bags that would sell their own mother to make a profit and overcharge at that! The other shops around me are like tweeter, and they "never have anything extra." Their prices are outrageous as well. They wanted 70 bucks for a 0Awg to 4 4Awg distribution block that wasn't even fused. I laughed in the guys face and all the way out the door. I ended up getting some stinger blocks off ebay for like 20 bucks shipped that were twice as nice. ............... ![]() ![]() ![]() Search or one of these adorable kittens WILL DIE! |

That's ridic man. The guys at RPM sold me a fused distro for $40. It's not correct, so they're going to swap it out for me for free once the new stock gets in and throw in a handfull of midi fuses (those things aren't cheap). I love good people. Ebay is an awesome resource though. You want cable? Ebay man. |

in my last vehicle i had to extend 1/0 gauge. the way i did it was to.... go to lowes and get a 2 in. long piece of metal pipe just a little larger than the wire (in the pluming section), drill a holes in each end, thread tap each hole, put the end of your installed wire in one side and the wire extension in the other side, run a bolt through each hole to hold the wires in the pipe, cut off the rest of the bolts flush with the pipe piece, heat the whole thing with a torch and solder till its full. it work better than a butt connector and there is no voltage drop across it since there is more mass of metal there than a butt connector. beware of the mad sciontist ! ask me your car audio and electronics questions!! |
