Okay so i just got a 05 TC i think?

Not sure if it has anything for the ipod.
All i know that it has a factory radio.
Is there anything can easily plug into the radio or something for my ipod?

I don't know much about cars/tc!

Thanks!

The easiest way to find out is to look inside your armest and see if you have an aux port, If you do that means your tC is ipod compatible, and all you need is a wire to connect from your aux port to your ipod... If you dont have that you could always get an itrip which is an fm transmitter to connect to a radio station but I wouldnt really recommend it because it has alot of static most of the time! hope I helped!

I believe if there is an iPod connection it will be in the center console. If you don't you have one this should do the trick...

I bought one for my Corolla and it's great.

FM transmitters are very problematic. I am much happier with a direct connection.

The center console has a power adapter or whatever. (You can plug things into it for it to charge.. is that the AUX plug?)

I don't like FM transmitter, i bought one... there's static and it's hard to set the station..
Just wanted like a direct connection

Then something like this is what you need...
http://www.crutchfield.co...p;i=581PA15TOY&tp=120

You can control you iPod from your stereo with it.

If you have the aux plug then all you have to do is buy an aux wire it has to say 3.5mm connector and you should be good

I think what he is talking about is the 12v power plug.

Here look at this pic...

From top to bottom
Power
3.5mm jack
iPod connection.

Does that help?

If you have a iPod with a Dock connector then buy the one in the link above or one like it...That site has a lot of good stuff for car stereos.

Alright, thanks all!

I think I'm just going to buy a whole new deck... The factory stuff isn't so great anyways...

It would probably save me money then buying this,http://www.crutchfield.co...p;i=581PA15TOY&tp=120
in the long run, everything would be more clean.

just for future reference, 2005 tC's didn't come with the AUX port in the armrest . You can get the USASpec Aux adapter for the oem unit though.

Here's a link to some on ebay....I don't know if you need one for the tc or if all the Scions use the same.

thanks alot, but i'm still a little confused. i bought the car used (07 tC), and it came with the iPod jack in the center console, which i know is an add on. i just found an old auxilary wire that works but is that iPod wire supposed to give better sound quality or something? why would somebody even pay to install that iPod jack if the aux one already works with a different, cheaper wire?

also, is that wire guaranteed to work as long as i have that iPod jack?

EDIT: another thing, would they sell the wire at car dealerships, and i see a cable made for the 08 tc on ebay, would that work on my 07?

FYI - I had my Sirius tuner plugged into the aux port and it had terrible interference noise. I have it hooked up with my wired FM modulator now and there's no problem at all. Now I just have to figure out which way I want to go with a new HU.

This cable runs the iPod like a 6 CD changer, it lets you change tracks and I think play lists. If all you want to do is play a song then you may just want to buy a 3.5mm-3.5mm.

That may have more to do with the cable, but I also had issues hooking up my Sat radio in our car, nothing seems to work right.

I can hook up a iPod or CD player to our Aux jack and it sounds great, then I hook up the Sirius and I can here the spark plugs.

i watched some video on scion.com about the radio, and they showed one that looked much like mine except the AUX button said iPod underneath it, and mine does not. Is this because that is the stock radio for the 2008 and not the 2007? If i did buy the iPod cable, would it even work? because i do have the ipod input but i don't think i have that upgraded iPod radio.

Thanks

If I remember right...as long as you have the iPod connection in the center console then it would work.
