Hi, I want to upgrade my whole exhaust system and I was wondering if the setup I have in mind is possible? I am new to this so I would greatly appreciate all the comments and answers. Thank you

DC Headers, Invidia Downpine and I am still weather I should get a catback or axle back so far I am thinking of the HKS Hi power axle back , TRD axle back or Magnaflow cat back

Thanks in advance.

PS: I am mainly looking for performance

If you want to go for performance, the mid-pipe is major, so no axlebacks! Unless of course you are planning to get the mid-pipe custom done with 2.5" piping.

if you are planning to do your whole exhaust system go for a header (dc is one of the raspier ones), s-pipe (not invidia they like to rust) midpipe (id recommend tsudo, i have the 2.5" it and its great), and out of the axlebacks you said, id go with the hks

So what if my girlfriend drives a Supra, I'm more sexier than she is! =)

^^^^ this is true .... from my reading, 30" total resonator is about right .... this will most likely require 2 smaller resonators.

all right I think this is what I am gonna do
HKS Hi Power axle back.
Megan Racing Down and Mid pipe

as for the headers I dont't really know which one to choose yet. If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be awesomeeeee

Thanks in advance.

I think any 4-1 header for the tC will yield similar results. Heres an SL thread testing a few headers:

the megan racing midpipe is 2.25 with a resonator I think thats a good choice. Now the last question for today and noobiest of all after I have all the headers, down/mid pipe and axle back where does that leave me with the catalytic converter?

I think the Weapon R header is the best design

Yeah but the catalytic converter goes bye bye on that one.

not too much of a problem if you live in a state that doesn't have emissions regulations

The 1st cat goes bye bye on any header .... you can get one welded into the new mid-pipe where the OEM second one is ..... that's legal.

The only difference is that this one includes the S-pipe.

ohh ok thanks hehehe like I said im still learning with you guys about the exhaust system ok then that one claims 16 hp just to be clear on this the second catalytic converter in a OEM setup is on the Mid pipe of the exhaust?

I understand thats one of the way the headers get rid of back pressure and let exhaust gases flow more freely. by eliminating one of the catalytic converters

IF you want to have a from the header back, the ONLY company i know that does it right now is PTuning. I like them for the simple fact they include a high flow cat in their system so that you retain your emissions legality. Plus they use a bit bigger tubing so it really helps turbo/sc cars breathe.

If youve allready decided good for you. Just from a personal standpoint im not a fan of any Megan products. And for quality the best header for the tC is Weapon R (that is an oxymoron in alot of ways)

actually megan does make a header with a cat. they make two one with and one without. heres the difference:

with cat:

without cat:

the only thing is some companies will use the header with cat picture but actually have the header without cat. im not sure if megan still makes the one with a cat

I've decided to go megan racing all the way(headers, s-pipe, midpipe). I already contacted them and I am awaiting response to see if their midpipe for the tC comes with a Cat converter and resonator. I am also considering either HKS or Magnaflow for the catback or axle back.

i believe the megan does come with a cat and res in their midpipe. if you're interested i'll be selling my megan header with cat next month for a sweet deal.

One of my buddies is a master mechinist, so I plan to get a basic pipe and weld a few goodies into it like a magnaflow or random technologies cat, Moroso resonator and maybe a normal resonator as well.

well as I turns out Megan mid pipe only comes with resonator no cat.

So I'll have to rethink my whole setup I need a midpipe that comes with resonator and cat converter anybody knows who builds it like that?
