Master Mechanic



Kia coming out with an entry level 2-door coupe concept powered by a twin-turbo direct-injection 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine which pumps out 290 bhp and 289 lb.-ft. of torque. Based on the subcompact Rio platform, the front-drive Koup is directly aimed at such sporty coupes as the Honda Civic Si.

2 Turbos to make that HP..... Need to take a lesson from the 2.0L DSM guys. I think if it weren't for the fact that they're bolting on the turbos rather than building the platform from the ground up you'd see maybe a single turbo with the same output. I'm still pleased to see any manufacturer selling a vehicle that comes with a turbo or two..lol

Just looking at it you can tell its a Kia. I think the interior is nice, but I wonder if that was done up for the show or if its the actual production version. Not diggin the heads and tails at all! Othe rhtne that it isn't a bad looking car. Still a Kia though

It cracks me up that after the tC came out every car company is making something that resembles the tC. Nothing will ever beat the original!

^ thats a good point.. high power is nice, but you gotta have a solid chassis with a good suspension to back it up otherwise it's not a sports car.

I suppose this car would own in a straight line though.

I'm more impressed by the Cobalts than any other tuner car as of yet. Factory performance upgrades that ACTUALLY perform and are warrantied. My friend's SS is so nice. He's told me that the SS guys with S/Cs are afraid of the Turbo models coming out. They are out to beat the SRT4s and with their engine, it looks like it'll be possible.

ya the new cobalt will be able to beat the old or new srt-4 stock for stock easily is what im guessing. just hope no turbo tc runs up on a cobalt and assumes its a S/C model and gets destroyed cuz its a modded T/C model .. that would suck..

gah cant wait to do tranny swap.

All this is fine and fun, but the question I keep asking is what, and when is the next Gen tC coming? If done right it could be a serious contender in its class.

I agree.
Scion Need to step up a little with the tC. Every car that was in it's class has step up on the power.
