Does anybody have the borla exhaust system? If so how do you like it and what all does it come with. Im looking at buying straight through Borla and I havent been able to find any information on what actually comes with it as far as a header or a s pipe or anything like that so if anybody could tell me what I will be getting for the close to 560 bucks I would appreciate it.
Thanks

The borla axleback is similar in sound to the trd. Its oem style and produces a nice deep tone but can become raspy like the TRD with a header. That beinf said it is simply overpriced. Not worth it IMHO. You could have an entire custome s-pipe back exhaust made for less then that. I have a borla straight through style muffler on my creative compacts exhaust and am very pleased with it.

How much does your setup run and is the stright through muffler a cat back or what? Sorry but I am basically exhaust retarded it is one of the things I have never really dealt with. Except taking cats off and stuff like that. Can you try and break it down alittle dumbly I guess is a way you could put it. lol
Thanks

im running magnaflow, i went with a custom exhaust though, i cut out the resanater and put the muffler in its place and ran 2.5" pipe straight back, it sounds awsome, and has a real deep sound (its the bigger one)

I have the Borla Axel Back. It is connected to 2.5" id mid pipe and s-pipe, which comes off the downpipe of my turbo. Initially there was some rasp at the very high end when revving up not under load. I have since placed an Aero resonator in line on the mid pipe, and this removed most of the rasp, as well as gave the car a deeper and more aggressive sound, but without excessive loudness.

edit** heh, you live in GA, one of these days, we can meet up and you can hear mine.

I have a magnaflow resonator on mine, but I'm going to add an aero to the mid when I get a chance. The straight through borla I have is on the axelback portion, but the creative compacts is a full catback exhaust. You can get it from promotiontuning.com and mine ran around 800 when it was all said and done. I got the full stainless, high flow cat, and an s-pipe. Again though, if I had to do it again, I would go to a shop and have them make me a custom exhaust. 2 aero 18's, and a borla straight through would sound great. Don't really even need the high flow cat, but I was inexperienced at the time and got what I thought was the best out there. Its a solid exhaust, but I just would never buy another kit knowing what I know now.

Perhaps it was raspier at the time? Or I could have not been boosted, because with the header alone it was raspy.

I think that they call it cat back because they can get away with it due to the location of the primary catalytic converter on the tC. If your exhaust starts from the rear axel back, but the mid pipe has the primary cat, you can call it cat-back. What most people think of as cat-back does not really exist for the tC. You can get a down-pipe back, but cat back and axel back are interchangable for our cars. Weak and sneaky I know.

I don't know you had the greddy turbo on and it was almost 3 months ago I guess. I only heard it for a second or two when you pulled into the toyota dealership
