Short Throw Shifter question

Hey guys, I'm new to the site, and one of the first mods I am planning to do is a Short Throw shifter. Most of them that I have seen pictures of come in a plastic-esque enclosure, that looks like it bolts on from the top. I used to have a civic, and when I installed my shifter there, It required getting underneath the car to connect. Does the TC setup just bolt on from the inside? Do you have to do anything underneath the car?

whats up and welcome to the club. you can do the install from inside the car and you only have to change the shifter without changing the shift cage. there is an install guide in the DIY section. took me about 25 minutes to do. good luck, here is the link. dont forget there is a world of stuff on here so use the search button

It's a lot easier to install a shifter that comes with its own cage. Idk about you guys, but taking out the lever from the shift cage was a pain in the grip

i dunno.. for me at the least, i find it faster to just change out the shaft than to disassemble the cables and stuff to take out the entire cage...

at which point, the biggest part of it is having the right tools.
